While a considerable number of studies have focused on factors driving employees to voluntarily participate in training programs, much less is known on this topic with regard to the unemployed ...population, in particular the older unemployed, who often are in a vulnerable labor market position due to educational deficits and skills obsolescence. This study proposes and investigates a serial mediator model of older unemployed individuals’ training intentions grounded in propositions from social cognitive theory and the theory of planned behavior as well as prior models of employee involvement in training. The results, based on cross-sectional questionnaire data from 176 unemployed Portuguese individuals aged 40+, suggest that age, education, and proactivity have an indirect effect on training intentions via learning self-efficacy and training-related outcome expectations. Age was also directly related to stronger training intentions. These results may be useful for interventions aiming to encourage older unemployed individuals’ participation in training.

Therefore, digital information is currently an indispensable element of interpersonal relations, being characterized by the speed and ease with which it is sent from one side of the planet to the other, in real time. We cannot imagine the modern world without the electronic means of data transmission, a fact that represents an enormous gain of the modern society. That is why it is considered that information represents an element of imposition in the market, in the age when the computer is used in most fields of activity, which makes the holder of the informational elements to be considered as having a „strong" position in the market. That is precisely why, almost immediately after the development of the information transmission digital technologies, the objective and urgent need for the development of legal means of protection and of guaranteeing of the „personalization" of computer data was raised for discussion, in the most serious way, as an aspect that outlines the guaranteeing of the right to exclusive possession, use, transmission, preservation, exploitation of databases, in which information with valuable content is structured. Information has played and will always play one of the most important roles in the development and diversification of a country's economic sectors. Information has its own value, but once it is developed, issued, collected, archived, organized, evaluated, preserved and presented methodically, its value increases. In the modern era, information is structured, being constituted in a well-defined organizational system, called a database, through which information is correlated with other information, and by this functional connection it enhances its relevance and its value.

These types of magazines achieve such high sale, that many information newspapers (such as “Le Figaro”) have decided to create women’s addition to the newspaper to increase their entire print – run. The women’s press is also attractive for advertisers, because many global companies in the clothing or cosmetics industry are from France. Platform ecosystems have spurred new products and services, sparked innovation, and improved economic efficiency in various industries and technology sectors. A distinctive feature of the platform ...architecture is its modular and interdependent system of core and complementary components bound together by design rules and an overarching value proposition. Accordingly, we conceptualize platforms as meta-organizations, or “organizations of organizations” that are less formal and less hierarchical structures than firms, and yet more closely coupled than traditional markets. To function successfully, however, platforms require coordination among multiple participants not all of whose interests are aligned. These organizational features of platforms raise many interesting and complex strategic challenges and hold implications for how platforms compete. In this paper, we discuss some of the most salient features of platform ecosystems as meta-organizations, specifically in terms of the sources of authority or power in the ecosystem, the motivation and incentives a platform creates to attract participants, and its governance and coordination structures. We then consider how papers appearing in this special issue inform us about the effects of these features on platform competition along three distinct dimensions: (a) with traditional incumbents as platforms enter and establish themselves in new markets, (b) with other platforms to secure an advantageous market position, and (c) with the different participants on the platform to share the value that has been created jointly. We close by identifying some promising directions for future research. While core platform owners will have the capability and authority to accumulate, access, and analyze large pools of data, access to all of the world's relevant data is not required to speed innovation or carve out new market space in the digital economy. The opportunities may be greatest in industrial applications, where the continued importance of physical systems and industry‐specific domain knowledge drives adaptation and customization.
The necessity to contribute to a high competitiveness level of business structures in the increasingly competitive environment, globalization, fusion of labor markets and assets and to develop the ...digital economy requires an adequate transformation of the competitiveness management system of business structures. The purpose of this article is to suggest a methodical approach to assessing the competitiveness level of business structures in the digital economy. The approach is supposed to allow assessing the competitiveness level of IT business firms as suppliers of IT solutions to final customers using the methods of the hierarchy analysis, assessing the development level and the cluster analysis. The article analyzes the state and trends of developing business structures in the field of IT technologies from the point of view of their competitiveness. The paper proposes the economic and mathematical tools, which allow to justify the informational space of business structure competitiveness indices, calculate the importance of variables and weight coefficients, justify the choice of the method of convolution and developing aggregates, scaling the integral index of business structure competitiveness level in the digital economy. While implementing the proposed methodical approach to competitiveness data indicators of IT business structures the authors have identified companies with the highest competitiveness level and an IT company with the medium competitiveness level and a low market share, which shows the possibility of strengthening the market position of the company in a medium term. The developed methodical approach can be considered as an informational and methodical element of the competitiveness management system of IT business structures.
