The article investigates the use of design thinking techniques with the help of modern technical means to improve the quality of training of masters of technical specialities. The relevance of the ...study is based on the changes in society, which require a system of training of technical specialities in higher education institutions to respond quickly and flexibly to the changes in the ideology of the consumer "products" of this system, of the developer and manufacturer of the final product.
Based on WEF's analytical conclusions on the labour market, the authors of the article propose to develop skills in the training of Masters in technical specialities that will allow them to restructure their way of thinking and more effectively integrate into modern production. On the example of consideration of the structure of the educational program of masters "Industrial aesthetics and certification of production equipment" initiated in NTU "Dnipro University of Technology" and comparison with the requirements of the approved Standard of higher education in 132 Materials for Master level, the authors advise to apply and actively develop creativity, originality of thinking, ability to persuade and negotiate, using the method of design thinking of the students. It is this approach that forms for Masters a paradigm of perception and change to the surrounding harmonious subject environment, which allows considering the relationships and interactions within such an environment.
The approved Standard of higher education in the speciality 132 Materials Science allows forming the content of the educational program, which provides the formation of stages of design thinking. Construction of training considering the methodology of design thinking is associated with the creation of conditions of immersion in the subject area, continuous interaction with the "conditional customer", organization of teamwork, development of students' competencies in presenting solutions in the form of visual images based on information technologies with the use of active teaching methods in all their diversity and complexity.
This contributes to the formation of students' valuable communication skills, entrepreneurship, public speaking skills, obtained in the process of solving real problems that came from the external environment. As a result, students acquire practical skills, abilities and experience that will be in demand in their further educational and professional activities.

PurposeThe current expansion of the knowledge economy and its requirements of highly educated workers make interesting to analyse the effects on the labour market outcomes of completing a master's ...degree. This study examines the factors determining the probability of pursuing a postgraduate programme and observes whether workers reaching this educational attainment reap the benefits of their human capital investment through better paid jobs compared to college-only degree holders. On the other hand, it analyses whether individuals with a master's degree are more prone to upward wage mobility.Design/methodology/approachThe study relies on data obtained from the second survey on the Labour Insertion of University Graduates conducted by the National Statistics Institute (INE, 2019). This survey allows us to observe labour market transitions of the first group of Spanish university graduates under the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) and their earnings. The methodological procedure consists of the estimation of wage models controlling for the unobservable differences between workers who have or have not completed a master's degree.FindingsThe results indicate a significant positive impact of master's degree on salaries. Furthermore, individuals with postgraduate studies are more prone to upward wage mobility in comparison to college-only degree holders.Research limitations/implicationsData used does not allow us to identify which competences associated with the completion of a master's degree are more remunerated by employers.Practical implicationsThe econometric specification applied allows us to compute the direct effect of a master's degree on wages and predict the average probability that an individual is in a determined wage interval according to the knowledge area and controlling by the rest of characteristics.Social implicationsThe findings are helpful to diagnose and understand how the knowledge acquired through postgraduate studies are rewarded by the labour market, which is essential to evaluate the return on educational investments when making decisions about whether or not to continue postgraduate studies.Originality/valueThis research addresses novelty aspects on tertiary education in Spain and its effects on workers' careers.
The article is substantiated the practical aspects of the formation of IC-competence of the future master of public administration (for students of the second (master's) level of higher education of ...the educational-professional program 281 Public administration and administration. The text presents the way students, in Master's degree of training secondary school teachers in geography, appropriate the contents of didactics of geography, towards their learning of teacher's ...geography. With some case studies about students in French Masters in Teacher Training Colleges, this text aims to identify three typical ways of relationships to the professional reality, the focus is made on a training course with both geography and work analysis. The first relationalship is “trial” or challenge witch both realizations and ethical care about what is “well done job”. The second one (illusion) lays on true observation but false statements by ignorance of pupil’s knowledge. The last (desire) is blindness. Thus, the training is successful only for one case (trial): students manage with what is behind the professional scenes and are able to assess themselves. Are these three typical ways also discernible in others vocational trainings?
The article is devoted to the analysis of academic diploma theses: bachelor’s and master’s, carried out in the course of 1st and 2nd degree Romance Philology between 2005-2017 in the perspective of ...reflective practice. Based on the assumption of the pre-scientific character of the diploma thesis and the resulting imperative of objectivity, the aim of the article is to examine the traces of subjectivity present in the language of the diploma theses. The subject of interest is both subjectivity expressed in 1 singular person, but above all other, less obvious, more “constructed” forms (e.g. metaphors, expressive use of adjectives), which express the emotional commitment of the author of the work. In conclusion, the analysis of the works shows a conflict of paradigms: the scientific imperative of objectivism with the desire to express emotions aroused by literature, and in this indirect way, also to express one’s self and personality.

The formation of professional and methodological competence of future educators-methodologists was determined by the following criteria: professionalism, methodological literacy, methodological culture. The obtained results were quite positive in terms of the formation of professional and methodological competence in the applicants of the experimental group compared to the control.
INTRODUCTIONThe effective integration of professional nursing staff with university training into care processes is associated internationally with better patient outcomes. In Germany, there is a ...current lack of reliable figures on graduates and their areas of responsibility. Therefore, the aim of this follow-up survey, designed as a repetition of a previous one, was to ascertain the number of nurses with a Bachelor's or Master's degree involved in direct patient care at university medical centers. METHODIn a cross-sectional study, chief nursing officers in university medical centers were asked to quote the number of professional nurses with a university degree (Bachelor, Master, Doctorate). Additional questions focused on their tasks and responsibilities and the measures undertaken to facilitate their integration into the organization. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. RESULTSIn total, n=29 valid questionnaires from 35 university medical centers were included in the analysis, resulting in a response rate of 82.85%. For a total of 18 centers, the number of university-qualified nurses had increased by n=786 between 2015 (n=593) and 2018 (n=1,379). The overall percentage of nurses with a university degree working at a university medical center in the study was 3.16% (SD=1.66; min - max=1.09 - 6.69; Q1 - Q3=1.49 - 4.04; 95% CI 2.30 to 3.95). In direct patient care, the quota was 2.11% (SD=1.40; min - max=0.47 - 5.42; Q1 - Q3=0.87 - 3.16; 95% CI 1.36 to 2.76). The main focus of their duties was on standard care and patient education (graduates with a Bachelor's degree), evidence-based nursing practice development (Master's degree) and research activities (doctoral degree). DISCUSSIONCompared to 2015, the proportion of professional nursing staff with university training has increased but remains at a very low level. These nurses perform relevant clinical tasks and are involved in the development of good practice. However, there is a need for better competence-based differentiation.
While criminology and criminal justice (CCJ) undergraduate programs serve the bulk of our students, much research within the field pays attention to Ph.D. programs and their faculty. Such focus at ...the polar ends of educational opportunities for those seeking higher education in CCJ leaves a gap in information on master's degrees in the discipline. This research note describes the programmatic features and experiences of 34 programs and paints a picture of current master's level education to guide program refinement and development and assist undergraduate students applying to CCJ master's programs. Findings suggest there are a set of core courses offered across programs that often align with faculty expertise and students have varied culminating experience opportunities. There is also much productivity among graduate students who conduct research and publish and/or present their findings. The paper describes gaps in the literature and discusses suggestions for future research directions.
