Multiple repeats of membrane occupation and recognition nexus （MORN） motifs were detected in plant phosphatidylinositl monophosphate kinase （PIPK）, a key enzyme in PI-signaling pathway. Structural ...analysis indicates that all the MORN motifs （with varied numbers at ranges of 7-9）, which shared high homologies to those of animal ones, were located at N-terminus and sequentially arranged, except those of OsPIPK1 and AtPIPK7, in which the last MORN motif was separated others by an -100 amino-acid ＂island＂ region, revealing the presence of two kinds of MORN arrangements in plant PIPKs. Through employing a yeast-based SMET （sequence of membrane-targeting） system, the MORN motifs were shown being able to target the fusion proteins to cell plasma membrane, which were further confirmed by expression of fused MORN-GFP proteins. Further detailed analysis via deletion studies indicated the MORN motifs in OsPIPK 1, together with the 104 amino-acid ＂island＂ region are involved in the regulation of differential subcellular localization, i.e. plasma membrane or nucleus, of the fused proteins. Fat Western blot analysis of the recombinant MORN polypeptide, expressed in Escherichia coli, showed that MORN motifs could strongly bind to PA and relatively slightly to PI4P and PI（4,5）P2. These results provide informative hints on mechanisms of subcellular localization, as well as regulation of substrate binding, of plant PIPKs.
Kentucky authorities on Friday pulled over Adrian Morene and Harry Sharod James in Jenkins' Honda Civic about 350 miles from Charlotte. An officer searched the car and found Jenkins' wallet and a ...knife with what appeared to be blood on it, the affidavit says. It's unclear whether Jenkins and James met through the program. Friends have said Jenkins had mentored about 10 young men, and neighbors said they knew he had mentored James. The affidavit says Morene and James were headed to Chicago when they were stopped for erratic driving in northern Kentucky. James, who'd been driving, was arrested on traffic violations and Morene went with police voluntarily.

The acetyltransferases CBP and p300 are multifunctional transcriptional co-activators. Here, we combined quantitative proteomics with CBP/p300-specific catalytic inhibitors, bromodomain inhibitor, ...and gene knockout to reveal a comprehensive map of regulated acetylation sites and their dynamic turnover rates. CBP/p300 acetylates thousands of sites, including signature histone sites and a multitude of sites on signaling effectors and enhancer-associated transcriptional regulators. Time-resolved acetylome analyses identified a subset of CBP/p300-regulated sites with very rapid (<30 min) acetylation turnover, revealing a dynamic balance between acetylation and deacetylation. Quantification of acetylation, mRNA, and protein abundance after CBP/p300 inhibition reveals a kinetically competent network of gene expression that strictly depends on CBP/p300-catalyzed rapid acetylation. Collectively, our in-depth acetylome analyses reveal systems attributes of CBP/p300 targets, and the resource dataset provides a framework for investigating CBP/p300 functions and for understanding the impact of small-molecule inhibitors targeting its catalytic and bromodomain activities.

More-than-human geographies haben sich im angelsächsischen Raum als wichtiges Forschungsfeld etabliert und in den letzten Jahren auch in der deutschsprachigen Geographie zunehmend an Bedeutung ...gewonnen. Die Dezentrierung des Menschen wird durch verschiedene Ansätze wie die Phänomenologie, den Pragmatismus, die Akteur-Netzwerk-Theorie, Assemblage-, Affekt- und Mehr-als-repräsentationale Theorien sowie durch praxistheoretische, performative und viszerale Ansätze konzeptionell vorangetrieben. Trotz dieser großen Heterogenität eint die Mehr-als-menschlichen Geographien, dass sie den Menschen als Teil eines größeren Gesamtzusammenhangs begreifen, sich der Welt aus mehr als nur streng rational greifbaren Erfahrungs- und Sinndimensionen nähern und insofern leibliche, affektive, emotionale und sensorische Praktiken, Transaktionen und Intra-Aktionen in den Blick nehmen. Die Autorinnen und Autoren führen in die Entwicklungslinien, Grundzüge und Schlüsselkonzepte der komplexen Debatte ein und tragen so dazu bei, sie systematisch für die deutschsprachige Geographie und interessierte Nachbardisziplinen zu erschließen.
Pedro Morenes pointed out that discipline is based on the "free acceptance of a profession that requires every individual to voluntarily give up part of his liberty; " obedience takes root in the ..."certainty that good is being done to the Spanish society;" this is in addition to the "strength of a hierarchy that guarantees, in the still of its exemplary and responsible behaviour, the common good of the entire Spanish society, which is based on the principles of national sovereignty, unity, and solidarity among all Spaniards." "The Spanish Government is willing to continue to manage Herat's air base, Afghanistan's western gateway to the world, and maintain the hospital located there," Morenes pointed out. After listing the missions in which the Spanish Armed Forces are taking part in Lebanon, Somalia, Mali, and Central African Republic, Morenes stressed that, apart from all these operations, the Spanish troops "are trying every day to ensure the defence and security of all Spaniards in national territory." In order to do so, they "are seeking to adapt themselves to the new needs as fast as they are required." Morenes also discussed the "structural reforms" that have been undertaken throughout 2013, such as the creation of the Joint Cyber Defence Command, the adaptation of the penal and disciplinary code "to the new social reality," the "control and rescheduling of the big military material programmes," and the "support for the national defence industry." He pointed out that the goal is to "improve the efficiency of a public service, such as the Defence, which is essential for creating a backdrop against which to measure the development of society."
