The essay considers the effects of internet-based communication on the book as a carrier of a message. An examination ofTeo Spiller's "sonnet-like" web projects and of web archives such as the ...Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy shows which aspects of the book have changed or were improved in web-based communication forms, and which aspects are book-specific and thus retain their value in the Internet era. Social media today has already been one of the most significant broadcast media of chinese literature. However, it is not yet found any independent genre of literature challenging the existing ...literature genre system. The blog literature and micro-blog literature recently appeared, but their value as literature is not very high. In spite of that, the spread of social media could probably bring about a new phenomenon of a lot more original literature. Therefore, in the study of chinese internet literature, the social media should be included in the range of view and constantly observed.
