In this recent work, a new two-step iterative method for solving nonlinear equations that have a fifth-order convergence is suggested and analyzed. This new iterative method is free from second ...derivative of functions and based on Halley’s method and Taylor’s expansion together by using Hermite orthogonal polynomials basis to implement a suitable approximation of second derivative of functions. In addition, the order of convergence and the corresponding error equations of the new method are proved. Finally, some numerical examples are given to show the efficiency and the performance of the new method as well as a comparison with the original well-known Newton’s method and some other relevant methods are illustrated.
Bending analysis was carried out for a laminated composite porous plate due to sinusoidal loading with various boundary conditions using improved third-order theory. Zero transverse shear stress ...provided a free surface at the top and bottom of the plate. Also, the authors developed a finite element formulation based on improved third-order shear deformation theory. To circumvent the C1 continuity requirement associated with improved third-order shear deformation theory, a C0 FE formulation was developed by replacing the out-of-plane derivatives with independent field variables. An in-house FORTRAN code was developed for the bending analysis of the laminated porous plate considering a 2D finite element model. The complete thickness of the plate was covered with different porosity patterns. The impacts of various modulus ratios, boundary conditions, thickness ratios, fiber orientation angles, and material parameters were examined for laminated porous plates. There was an 18.8% reduction in deflection in the case of the square plate as compared to rectangular plates, with a porosity value of 0.1, a thickness ratio of 10, and an orientation angle of 0°/90°/0°. According to the current research, adding porosities causes a relatively greater change in deflection rather than stress, thereby aiding in the development of a lightweight structure.
A radial measurement o f efficiency on a selected numerical example involving multiple decision units (DMUs) is presented in this paper. Original CCR and extended BCC radial DEA models are used for ...this purpose. It is demonstrated here that DMUs can be efficient or inefficient in the use o f resources in achieving work results. The results o f the efficiency measurement indicate that the evaluation by the CCR DEA model is more strict compared to the BCC DEA model for each inefficient DMU regardless o f whether the efficiency measurement focuses on inputs or outputs.
This study delves into the application of min-max fuzzy relation systems, specifically focusing on equality and inequality, in the examination of educational institution networks and their ...resource-sharing dynamics, akin to a P2P network structure. Expanding upon this framework, this article intricately explores a mathematical system featuring three or more terminals within an education resource system, each comprising distinct sharing capabilities. The terminals exchange information on various educational facets, encompassing variations and expenditures per share data, within the framework of a programming-type fuzzy objective function, constrained by the parameters of an educational information system. In these scenarios, the transfer of resources from one terminal to another is interlinked, introducing complexities that warrant a comprehensive examination. Notably, the consideration of greater downloading resources in specific cases is proposed for enhanced practicality. The primary objective of this article is to minimize network congestion within different educational networks, given fixed priority grades assigned to the terminals. To achieve this, the concept of a Lexicographic minimum solution is introduced to address max-min fuzzy relation inequalities, aligning with the defined objectives. The article presents a detailed and effective scenario for implementing the Lexicographic minimal solution. For validation purposes, the proposed scenario is supported by illustrative examples, offering tangible insights into its applicability and efficacy.

In this paper, the theoretical background of the Caspary method of geodetic deformation analysis is described and implemented in a simulated geodetic network in which two epochs of measurements are ...used. The Caspary approach foresees congruence testing of the geodetic network, the determination of the stable points between two analysed epochs, the transformation of the geodetic network using S-transformation, the calculation of displacements, and, in the last step, the graphical presentation of displacement vectors. Results obtained from the presented example are similar to those presented in the Hannover, Karlsruhe, Delft, Fredericton, München, and robust methods.
In a model with endogenous female labour supply and wages, we show that liquidity constraints that prevent households from buying child care generate an inefficiency and amplify gender gaps in the ...labour market. We evaluate the relative merits of paid maternity leave, child care subsidies, and government loans in mitigating liquidity constraints and promoting gender equality. While an extension in the duration of the leave has ambiguous effects, child care subsidies and loans in the form of child care vouchers remove the liquidity constraints and reduce gender gaps in participation and wages. We illustrate the mechanisms at play in a numerical example using Spanish data.
Anomalous Reaction-Sub-diffusion equations play an important role transferred in a lot of our daily applications in our life, especially in applied chemistry. In the presented work, a modified type ...of these models is considered which is the Reaction-Sub-diffusion equation of variable order, the linear and nonlinear models and we will refer to it by VORSDE. An accurate technique depends on a mix of the finite difference methods (FDM) together with Hermite formula is introduced to study these important types of anomalous equations. Regarding the analysis of the stability for the mentioned, it is done using the variable Von-Neumann technique; also the convergent analysis is introduced. As a result of the previous steps, we derived a stability condition which will be held for many discretization schemes of the variable order derivative and some other parameters and we checked it numerically.
Algorithms for optimizing traffic operations at a single intersection consider mostly one objective function (often vehicle delays). Such an approach can lead to long pedestrian waiting times as well ...as reducing safety conditions at the intersection. In this paper, a multicriteria optimization approach to the single intersection traffic control problem is presented. The trade-off algorithm between vehicle and pedestrian delay, under a fixed time control model, is developed. The metaheuristic Bee Colony Optimization (BCO), inspired by bee behavior in nature, is incorporated in the proposed approach. To solve the multicriteria optimization problem an interactive algorithm is used. The proposed approach is tested on an appropriate numerical example. Results show that by worsening vehicle delays, pedestrian delays can be improved, particularly under phase plans with an exclusive pedestrian phase. Future research should consider the inclusion of the safety exposure of vehicles and pedestrians into the proposed methodology.
