with a celibate commitment, who had a professional career and who did not
live in Opus Dei centers. Firstly, the methods and content of this personal and
collective formation are discussed, and secondly, the response of some of these
women is examined.
La incorporación de fieles del Opus Dei como agregados comenzó
en 1950, a partir de su aprobación como instituto secular. Este estudio se
centra en la formación de las mujeres que habían solicitado la admisión como
agregadas en la primera mitad de la década de 1950 en España. Mujeres con
compromiso de celibato, que ejercían una tarea profesional y que no vivían en
los centros del Opus Dei. Por una parte se abordan los modos y el contenido
de esa formación personal y colectiva y, por otra, la respuesta de algunas de
esas mujeres.
“St. Nicholas Memorial Museum Restoration and Landscaping Work” was carried out between the years of 2021-2022 by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Turkey under the control of ...the Antalya Directorate of Surveying and Monuments as well as the Demre Lycian Civilizations Museum. During the restoration period, the cement mortar floor stones in the naos of the church were removed, and the in situ floor tiles of the previous phase were exposed. The openings that may have formed in the ground after the destruction of the liturgical ambon and solea were then covered with unqualified floor coverings in the next phase. Based on these in situ floorings that were uncovered during the restoration works in 2022, five sondages were carried out in the naos. The purpose of sondages is to identify the different building phases of the church. In this study the soundings carried out in the naos of the Church of St. Nicholas in 2022, a preliminary evaluation of the obtained data to date, is presented to researchers in order to clarify the debates on the building phases and dating of the church. While the data obtained in 2022 supported some suggestions, it has allowed for new and important contributions to previous studies. In previous studies on the architecture of the Church of St. Nicholas, three main construction phases were identified. Building phase I, which follows the floor plan of a basilica, is dated to the aftermath of the great earthquake in 529. The soundings carried out in the naos in 2022 identify five building phases. It is likely that three of the phases were construction while the remaining two were repair. One of the most important results of the drilling works is the unearthing of the floors of the basilica planned building. The floors have been dated to the 6th century and provide clear documentation that this structure was built on a building/constructions that belonged to the Late Roman-Early Christian period. At the end of the studies, floor mosaics in the opus tessellatum technique with geometric and floral motifs were unearthed in this building, which we defined as the 1st phase. Whether these mosaics belong to an early phase of the Church of St. Nicholas or to the martyrion of the saint will be illuminated by future excavations.

The objective of this work is to establish a timeline for Opus Dei’s beginnings in Rosario and examine the role of women in Argentine society.

El presente artículo consiste en un análisis empírico del habitus y modos de justificación de la élite vinculada al Opus Dei, grupo que tiene un ascendiente importante sobre las élites en Chile y que ...ha sido poco estudiado. Se utiliza el aparato conceptual de Pierre Bourdieu, debido a que su propuesta de clasificación social incorpora las propiedades simbólicas como modos de distinción social, a través de las cuales los agentes aprehenden e interpretan el mundo y su posición en la estructura social. El Opus Dei será considerado como un sujeto colectivo que da forma a un habitus compartido entre quienes forman parte de él, donde la “santificación del trabajo” aparece como un elemento central en la distinción social del grupo. La metodología es de carácter cualitativo y se realizó un total de 16 entrevistas en profundidad a miembros de la Obra e informantes claves sobre el tema, para posteriormente analizar el material mediante la técnica de análisis de discurso.
Ultrasound is an imaging modality that is highly operator dependent. This article reviews the challenges in learning how to perform obstetric sonography, as well as the processes necessary to acquire ...expert performance skills in sonography. Simulation-based education and learning, and the value of medical simulation are also discussed. Ultrasound simulators are an effective means of teaching obstetric sonography, because it provides training, deliberate practice, and performance evaluation/feedback which allows continuous and critical self-evaluation. We review evidence that simulation can improve performance in obstetric ultrasound examination, review current simulators, and discuss the current problems/gaps in ultrasound simulation. Optical positioning ultrasound simulation is a novel high-fidelity simulation learning system, which addresses many of these problems/gaps and is introduced for the first time here.
