STRUCTURAL PECULIARITIES OF PHRASEOLOGICAL UNITS WITH ZOONYMS IN ENGLISHThis article is dedicated to the analysis of the structural features of phraseological units with zoonyms in English. The research of phraseological units from a morphological perspective is particularly important because it allows the observation of phenomena so typical of this area: (the invariability depending on the context) and the general phenomena, typical of all word combinations (formal paradigms). The problem of classifying phraseological units profoundly influences the area of theoretical and applied research. The grammatical characteristics of the phraseological units have been studied by some Russian, English and Romanian researchers. Although several criteria for classifying phraseologies have been used in contemporary linguistics, controversial issues of their classification still arise. The study is based on the methods of classifying phraseological units developed by the Russian linguist A.V. Kunin. The corpus on which this study is based is composed of 1027 phraseological units with zoonyms in English.
Рurpose. Studying the types of transformation of phraseological units in the satirical works of I. Ilf and E. Petrov, analysis of structural and semantic features of transformed phraseological units. ...Scientific novelty. Determining the features of the individual style of these authors, describing the specifics of the stylistic use of stable combinations in satirical prose of the early 20th century, as well as indicating the main directions of changes in the composition of phraseological units of the language. Materials and methods. Phraseologisms-transforms were extracted from the text using a continuous sampling method as well as the method of statistical calculations, structural-semantic analysis and the comparative method. Results. The semantics of phraseological units-transforms is closely related to the context; certain phraseological units are used to describe subjective states and emphasize attribute meanings, as well as create a comic effect. Practical implications. Тhe material considered can be used in teaching special courses in Russian phraseology for philology students and similar elective courses in a secondary school or school with in-depth study of individual subjects of the humanities, as well as in the process of preparing schoolchildren for participation in Russian language olympiads.
The article is dedicated to the analysis of the usage of phraseological units related to marriage in contemporary media texts. The material was extracted from the Russian National Corpus . ...The aim of the research is to identify the standard and new meanings and functions of phraseological units in this group in relation to the value orientations of contemporary Russian language speakers. The relevance of the study is determined by its linguistic-pragmatic and axiological orientation. The conducted analysis indicates that family continues to be a significant value for representatives of Russian linguistic culture. Society’s attitude towards the topic of marriage is traced within the framework of phraseological blocks, which depict (1) the position of men and women before entering into marriage, (2) within the marital union (this taxon is represented by the largest number of phraseological units), (3) outside of marriage. At the same time, expressions related to civil marriage also emerge in frequent positions. It is shown that euphemistic expressions for infidelity are more often associated with male actors. Media texts demonstrate the development of views on traditional roles of men and women, as well as the presence of non-traditional forms of marriage. Phraseology related to marriage is actively used metaphorically in relation to various spheres of societal life: politics, economy, sports, etc.

The purpose of the study is to identify common and distinctive features of Mordovian and Finnish phraseological units with the zoonym component “bird”. The relevance of this study is due to the need ...for a comprehensive study of phraseological units in order to identify common and specific features inherent in these linguistic cultures. The object of the study was the phraseological units of the Mordovian and Finnish languages, in which the zoonym component “bird” was identified. Based on the methods of descriptive, comparative, component analysis, the semantic characteristics of phraseological units are studied, dominant images are identified, universal phenomena and distinctive features in the meanings conveyed by phraseological units in the compared languages are determined. The main material of the study is presented by phraseological units with a zoocomponent, identified by continuous sampling from explanatory monolingual and bilingual dictionaries, as well as phraseological developments, texts of fiction and journalistic literature. The properties that the Mordovians and Finns attribute to poultry are in most cases similar, which is why both languages have a lot of phraseological units that coincide in meaning. In both Mordovian and Finnish cultures, the bird is considered a creature that is not very smart. The observed phenomenon is to a greater extent associated with domestic poultry, and to a lesser extent with wild birds.
