V članku je obravnavan izvor pridevnikov na -ov/-ev iz samostalnikov ženskega spola v slovenščini. Prikazani so nastanek in prvotni besedotvorni pomen praslovanské izsamostalniške pridevniške pripone ...*-ov-ъ/*-ev-ъ ter vrste pomenov pridevnikov na -ov/-ev v slovenščini, in sicer glede na slovarski pomen samostalnikov v jedru zložene samostalniške besedne zveze, ki jih ti pridevniki pomensko določajo.
This monography entitled The Multistage Word Formation (Case Study of the Verbs of Sense Perception) presents the word-formation and content-formation capabilities of verbs that denote perception of ...the five senses: sight, hearing, smell, touch and taste. The standpoint is based on a multistage method that extends research of the binary relation between the motivating and the motivated word into research of the relation between a non-derivative word and all of its direct and indirect derivatives.
The monograph ('Quantificational Aspects of Logical Form in Minimalist Program') argues that it is possible to view the Logical Form (LF) of the Minimalist Program and Semantic Form (SF), ...(implicitly) introduced by virtually all semantic theories, as identical. It does this by (i) defining language L*, a plural-logic extension of the first-order predicate logic, which is rich enough to express the meaning of English superlative determiner (SD) ‘most’, and (ii) constructing an isomorphism between LF and L*-encoded SF.Empirically, the introduction of L* is supported by an original cross-linguistic prediction claiming that a language having an English-like SD also has a definite determiner (DD), like English ‘the’. The prediction is most strongly corroborated by Macedonian/Bulgarian, which is the only Slavic language having the DD.The main features of the constructed isomorphism are the following. Variables of L* correspond to sequences of functional projections in head-complement relation. Predicates of L* correspond to (conceptual and) formal features of LF. Feature projection in LF is predication in L*. There are no explicit quantifiers in LF/L*: the scope of quantifiers is predictable from the occurrences of variables. Finally, the monograph provides the syntactic/semantic analysis of a wide range of constructions, the emphasis being on superlative and comparative constructions, and focus.
Slovarsko večpomenskost, ki se uresničuje kot specifična jezikovnosistemska danost posameznega jezika, je predvidoma mogoče pokazati s tipologijo znotrajleksemskih medpomenskih povezav, obstoječih v ...danem jeziku. Slovensko leksikalno pomenoslovje A. Vidovič Muha s prvo teoretično zasnovano predstavitvijo slovarske večpomenskosti slovenskega jezika prinaša merila tipologiziranja slovarske večpomenskosti, utemeljena v tipih sprememb pomenskosestavinske zgradbe. Preizkus ugotovljenih tipologizirajočih meril na obsežnejšem gradivu kaže njihovo učinkovitost pri izključevalnem razločevanju prepoznavnih tipov slovarske večpomenskosti slovenskih samostanikov in nakazuje možnosti novih tipoloških meril.
In this volume leading researchers present new work on the semantics and pragmatics of adjectives and adverbs, and their interfaces with syntax. Its concerns include the semantics of gradability; the ...relationship between adjectival scales and verbal aspect; the relationship between meaning and the positions of adjectives and adverbs in nominal and verbal projections; and the fine-grained semantics of different subclasses of adverbs and adverbs. Its goals are to provide a comprehensive vision of the linguistically significant structural and interpretive properties of adjectives and adverbs, to highlight the similarities between these two categories, and to signal the importance of a careful and detailed integration of lexical and compositional semantics. The editors open the book with an overview of current research before introducing and contextualizing the remaining chapters. The work is aimed at scholars and advanced students of syntax, semantics, formal pragmatics, and discourse. It will also appeal to researchers in philosophy, psycholinguistics, and language acquisition interested in the syntax and semantics of adjectives and adverbs.
