Summary The subject of the study is the first phase in the American period of Mileta Andrejević, starting from 1961 until 1964, when he stopped using a specific painting style between pop art and ...geometric abstraction. A particularly important period of his work is the collaboration with Richard Bellamy, who introduced him to the circle of artists who changed the language paradigms of art in the USA in the early 1960s - such as pop art, hard-edge painting, and minimal art - antagonizing the dominant abstract expressionism. The goal of this study is to analyze Andrejević's painting style of this short period of his creativity insufficiently covered in the history of Serbian art. The diversity in the artistic techniques used in the different artistic fields imposes on artists new ideas, new materials, new performance and creation of new art after the viewer has become bored ...with traditional works. These techniques also helped mass art artists in particular in expressing life and the political, economic and social events that surround them, especially graffiti art. Mass art artists and designers used various artistic techniques, such as collage, photography, graffiti art, spray techniques, silkscreen printing, stenciling, digital art, or digital art. This research aims at shedding light on the artistic techniques used by mass art artists and try to apply them in various fields of art.Research Objectives: To shed light on the artistic techniques used by mass art artists. The importance of the research: Attempting to take advantage of the various techniques and their application in various fields of arts.Research axes:The first axis: the definition and types of techniques used by Pop Art artists in their artwork. The second axis: Collage and the pioneers of the art of collage. The third axis: the art of graffiti, its pioneers, and the projects that used the art of graffiti. The fourth axis: digital art or digital technology and its schools.
Pop Art and the Origins of Post-Modernism examines the critical reception of Pop Art in America during the 1960s. Comparing the ideas of a group of New York-based critics, including Leo Steinberg, ...Susan Sontag, and Max Kozloff, among others, Sylvia Harrison demonstrates how their ideas - broadly categorized as either sociological or philosophical - bear a striking similarity to the body of thought and opinion which is now associated with deconstructive post-modernism. Perceived through these disciplinary lenses, Pop Art arises as not only a reflection of the dominance of mass communications and capitalist consumerism in post-war American society, but also a subversive commentary on worldviews and the factors necessary for their formation.
An in-depth analysis of the relationship between art and design, which led to the creation of 'pop'. Challenging accepted boundaries and definitions, the authors seek out various commonalities and ...points of connection between these two exciting areas.
Mass art is an artistic phenomenon and a creative approach that emerged to formulate the relationship between existence and awareness; and is based on objective truth, social and aesthetic value, to ...visualize all aspects of life as a social reality. Existential philosophy is one of the leading philosophical movements in the twentieth century, which bases its basic ideas on individualism, free will and personal responsibility. It takes man as its subject, not only through thinking, but through action and feeling, meaning that it is linked to man as a living being. Philosophy has been linked to art through human nature through external and internal influences that affected his personality. Or, more precisely, it evolves from one era to another. This research aims at reaching an accurate philosophical interpretation of the concept of POP art, where it is necessary to know the nature of existential philosophy and its relationship with this concept.Research problem:● The need to know the philosophy, values and design standards for this artistic direction and to benefit from them in interior design and furniture design● Is it possible through philosophy to know the foundations and criteria of this trend and to benefit from the philosophy, criteria and foundations of pop art applied in different fields in setting a philosophical framework for the design of interior spaces and furniture design?
The study presented here stems from the interpretation of pop-art found in the work of Petr Rezek and Walter Biemel. According to these authors, we find in pop art procedures and forms linked with ...new types of art, such as film, the photograph, or comics, but without these works themselves being film, the photograph, or comics in the usual meaning of the word. The given form is instead reflected in these works. These authors similarly highlight that this is the case with the use of technology, which is used in pop art both on the level of content and in the form of production, and gives rise to the phenomenon of repetition. This repetition is not however the mere multiplication of things, but a reflection of technical reproduction itself. On the basis of both authors’ interpretations of pop art works, the study determines the moments that the phenomenology of mass art must explore. Specific emphasis is placed by the author on the transformation of our conception of the being of things. The solidity and impenetrability of things disappear and the medial, liquid moment of objects is accentuated. Both the thing and the work become a passage and a place of distribution. Our intentionality does not stop at the object itself, but is diverted further, to our own person in kitsch, to the human of flesh, to rational supercivilization, but alternatively to profit and commerce as well. Even though this character of mass culture is usually understood negatively in the phenomenological tradition, the author reaches the conclusion that what is presented in pop art is, instead of being a bad world, a different world.
