We revisit, improve and complete some recent estimates of the 0+ and 1− open charm (c¯d¯)(us) tetraquarks and the corresponding molecules masses and decay constants from QCD spectral sum rules (QSSR) ...by using QCD Laplace sum rule (LSR) within stability criteria where the factorised perturbative NLO corrections and the contributions of quark and gluon condensates up to dimension-6 in the OPE are included. We confront our results with the D−K+ invariant mass recently reported by LHCb from B+→D+(D−K+) decays. We expect that the bump near the D−K+ threshold can be originated from the 0++(D−K+) molecule and/or D−K+ scattering. The prominent X0 (2900) scalar peak and the bump XJ(3150) (if J=0) can emerge from a minimal mixing model, with a tiny mixing angle θ0≃(5.2±1.9)0, between a scalar Tetramole (TM0) (superposition of nearly degenerated hypothetical molecules and compact tetraquarks states with the same quantum numbers) having a mass MTM0 = 2743(18) MeV and the first radial excitation of the D−K+ molecule with mass M(DK)1=3678(310) MeV. In an analogous way, the X1 (2900) and the XJ(3350) (if J=1) could be a mixture between the vector Tetramole(TM1) with a mass MTM1=2656(20) MeV and its first radial excitation having a mass M(TM1)1=4592(141) MeV with an angle θ1≃(9.1±0.6)0. A (non)-confirmation of the previous minimal mixing models requires an experimental identification of the quantum numbers of the bumps at 3150 and 3350 MeV.
•This study investigated PTW crashes occurred in Spain in the period 2011–2013.•The study used different data mining techniques: classification trees and rules discovery.•Crash types associated with ...high severity are run-off-the-road (ROR) and head-on (HO) crashes.•Crash patterns associated with high severity and with ROR and HO crashes have been singled out.•Countermeasures to mitigate PTW severe injuries and fatalities are suggested.
Powered two-wheelers (PTWs) are growing globally each year as they are considered an attractive alternative to cars (flexible, small, affordable, fast and easy to park), especially on congested traffic situations. However, PTWs represent an important challenge for road safety. In fact, in 2016, Spain ranked fifth in terms of PTW fatalities among EU 28. For this reason, this paper aims to investigate which are the patterns among crash characteristics contributing to PTW crashes in Spain. Data from 78,611 crashes involving PTWs occurred in Spain in the period 2011–2013 were analyzed. The analysis was performed by using classification trees and rules discovery which are suitable models aimed at extracting knowledge and identifying valid and understandable patterns from large amounts of data previously unknown and indistinguishable. The response variables assessed in this study were severity and crash type. As a result, several combinations of road, environmental and drivers’ characteristics associated with severity and typology of PTW crashes in Spain were identified. Based on the analysis results, several countermeasures to solve or mitigate the safety issues identified in the study were proposed.
From the methodological point of view, study results show that both the classification trees and the a priori algorithm were effective in providing non-trivial and unsuspected relations in the data. Classification trees structure allowed a simpler understanding of the phenomenon under study while association discovery provided new information which was previously hidden in the data. Given that the results of the two different techniques were never contradictory, we recommend using classification trees and association discovery as complementary approaches since their combination is effective in exploring data providing meaningful insights about PTW crash characteristics and their interdependencies.
Ensuring a healthier working environment is of utmost importance for companies and global health organizations. In manufacturing plants, the ergonomic assessment of adopted working postures is ...indispensable to avoid risk factors of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. This process receives high research interest and requires extracting plausible postural information as a preliminary step. This paper presents a semi-automated end-to-end ergonomic assessment system of adopted working postures. The proposed system analyzes the human posture holistically, does not rely on any attached markers, uses low cost depth technologies and leverages the state-of-the-art deep learning techniques. In particular, we train a deep convolutional neural network to analyze the articulated posture and predict body joint angles from a single depth image. The proposed method relies on learning from synthetic training images to allow simulating several physical tasks, different body shapes and rendering parameters and obtaining a highly generalizable model. The corresponding ground truth joint angles have been generated using a novel inverse kinematics modeling stage. We validated the proposed system in real environments and achieved a joint angle mean absolute error (MAE) of 3.19±1.57∘ and a rapid upper limb assessment (RULA) grand score prediction accuracy of 89% with Kappa index of 0.71 which means substantial agreement with reference scores. This work facilities evaluating several ergonomic assessment metrics as it provides direct access to necessary postural information overcoming the need for computationally expensive post-processing operations.
•This paper proposes a vision-based semi-automated RULA ergonomic posture assessment system using deep learning techniques.•The proposed method analyzes the posture holistically and estimates body joint angles directly from a single depth image.•We presented a novel inverse kinematic modeling process to obtain ground truth joint angles from motion capture data.•This allows training learning algorithms to estimate joint angles from input images acquired using different modalities.•The developed system supports Kinect and ASUS Xtion depth cameras and does not rely on skeleton data from the Kinect SDK.•The holistic posture analysis approach ensures robustness to different forms of occlusions.
This is a sociological study on the emotional rules and emotional management of funeral directors and their daily work with death. Data consists on in-depth interviews with seven funeral directors, employed at four different funeral offices. The result highlights emotionally challenging work situations accompanied by emotional rules such as: Show empathy and respect, Cry but controlled; The customer is always right and Laughs at the mourners’ terms. To manage their emotions, they use methods such as: Control their thoughts; Focus on the practical; Don’t look at the faces of the dead; Joke and laugh as well as Social support of colleagues. The results also suggest that the societal regime of death is also found at an organisational level.
