Research design, data, and methodology – For the purpose of carrying out this research, we conducted a direst structured questionnaire to students at ‘J’ college. A total of 237 valid questionnaires were collected for students and their parents at 'J' university. For the hypothesis test, exploratory factor analysis, t-test, regression and structure equation path analysis were performed.
Results - The consumers who often resented HMR purchase did counter-factual thinking on post-purchase behavior were likely to do switching purchases. Counter-factual thinking on post-purchase behavior had a negative influence upon consumer's satisfaction with HMR safety and marketing characteristics.
Conclusions - Consumers who had been satisfied to a certain degree might have cognitive dissonance of minor mistakes of HMR product were likely to have downward counter-factual thinking through contrast effects. Therefore, HMR producer and distribution businesses that had production, distribution and marketing strategy to satisfy consumers by raw material, freshness and safety were likely to switch to another product at one time mistake of selection, purchase and use. Retention is a challenge for all third level institutions and retention rates remain lower than colleges would like them to be. This has intensified in recent years as participation in higher ...education has increased and diversified. Student satisfaction and retention represents an important concern for colleges which must understand the reasons why students may choose to leave a programme. While student satisfaction and retention is a well-researched topic, there remain questions to be answered in terms of the factors that lead to non-completion. The aim of this research is to gain a greater understanding of the factors that lead to dissatisfaction and non-completion among third level students in Ireland. This research analyses data from 10,110 respondents of the Eurostudent survey, a survey of student attitude and satisfaction which is administered to all third level students in Ireland. A predictive model was developed and analysed using regression analysis and decision tree analysis. In line with literature reviewed, satisfaction with the student‟s college, teaching quality, teaching staff, facilities, finances, accommodation and friendship, feeling interested, calm and in good spirits, and the extent to which students exercise, were found to be significant predictors of student satisfaction. In contrast to literature reviewed, this study did not find that social status or income represented predictors of student satisfaction. This research contributes to academic literature and provides greater understanding of the factors that impact on student satisfaction. This study identifies important areas for Higher Education Institutions in Ireland to focus their attention as they endeavour to improve student satisfaction and retention rates.
On the basis of a questionnaire survey of 67 Korean expatriate managers in India, this exploratory study investigates the factors that affect the Korean expatriates' satisfaction with an ...international assignment in light of the opportunities and challenges associated with working and living in India. The study showed that the expatriates' (1) elevated position/title abroad, (2) unrealistic expectations toward international relocation and (3) inability to manage work-life balance issues had a negative influence on their overall satisfaction with an international assignment to India. The results also revealed that the homogeneous Korean expatriates maintained their Confucian values in the diverse and challenging Indian environment - this has both a positive and negative impact on their overall satisfaction. The implications, both theoretical and practical, for international human resource management are provided.
The purpose of this research is to explore the relationship between gender and job satisfaction, as well as its factors. The case study was conducted among academic and administrative staff at a ...university environment, to identify factors contributing to job satisfaction and their importance for female and male employees. Overall, there were 102 returned questionnaires and 20 interviews with academic and administrative employees.
The relationships between gender and job satisfaction factors were found for specific factors such as personal workspace and job security. T-tests identified statistical significance for differences in satisfaction with personal workspace, relationship with co-workers, and support for training and development factors. Besides, more females are concerned with flexibility at work than males.
A new platform for event-based simulation is presented in this work based on a new proposed programming language. The platform supports modelling of any system as stages. The resources reside in what ...the language calls pools. The language supports topology description of the system as connections between stages and pools. It provides flexibility to choose the needed distribution for every stage, the type of data passed from a stage to another and the output statistics at the end of execution. One of the capabilities of this new platform is to optimize resources needed in the system through multiple simulation iterations. Optimization is based on a previously proposed reward system that balances between three satisfaction factors: patient, owner and resource. Accordingly, new resource allocations are suggested for system enhancement. The compiler of the language takes an Englishlike text and converts it into a Petri net. A case study is presented to improve the main performance measures of an emergency department located in Lebanon: patient length of stay, utilization rates and queues waiting times. 18 refs.
Customer Information System (CIS) is a system used by an organization to assist employees to obtain customer information efficiently. The users’ satisfaction with the system will lead to improvement ...in task productivity and allow the employees to fully utilize the system. This study examined the relationship between users’ satisfaction factors towards task productivity of CIS implementation and how training moderate this relationship. A total of 149 respondents which consist of call centre employees in Klang Valley responded to the questionnaire given. The finding revealed all three factors (Ease of Use, Content, and Format) has a significant relationship towards task productivity of CIS. The results also indicate training significantly moderate the relationship between ease of use in CIS and task productivity however, it does not moderates the relationship between user satisfaction (Content and Format) and task productivity. Suggestion for future studies also presented on this paper.
The aim of this article is to investigate the factors that are influencing student satisfaction in case of neurology related massive open online courses (MOOCs). We analyzed data collected from ...learners enrolled in 40 neurology related MOOCs, by manually looking for information in these courses reviews. The main identified satisfaction factors can be grouped into the following categories: content related factors: course content, additional materials, assignments, external research and teaching - learning related factors (teacher presentation techniques / style): engaging, clear, coherent, knowledgeable, sharing / explanation, interactive, excitement, considering student’s needs, inspiring, sense of humor. Competences, skills and objectives pursued by neurology related MOOCs are also discussed. Analyzing these factors can be useful in new courses management (design and implementation) and also in understanding the needs (motivation, behaviors, perception) of 21st century learners interested in neurology related fields.
We surveyed households within Cirebon Metropolitan Region (CMR) in Indonesia to assess ecohydrological changes and their impacts on urban and peri-urban liveability. Composite indices were developed ...based on the subjective assessment of selected liveability indicators representing socio-ecohydrological functions of the region. This study identified five underlying structures of satisfaction factors, viz., personal, residential, neighbourhood, regional, and watershed. The study shows that liveability satisfaction varied depending upon the level of urbanisation in the CMR. The study also indicates that the challenge to improve regional sustainability is significant in the urban-peri-urban transition zone where the poor are more likely to live and are more directly affected by urban expansion and degradation of the local ecosystem. The analytical framework developed in this study can help local and regional government agencies to examine holistic solutions that focus more on place-based needs for long-term liveability and sustainability.
We developed a construct of dialysis employees' satisfaction as an assessment framework and identified the crucial factors that contribute to overall job satisfaction. We also seek to capture some ...important characteristics of dialysis professionals' job satisfaction/dissatisfaction in Japan. A questionnaire was developed, including 35 facet‐specific job‐related satisfaction and 10 general satisfaction items in closed‐ended questions. A questionnaire‐based survey was conducted between August and October 2013. A total of 799 valid responses (87% of response rate) were collected from 46 physicians, 470 nurses and 251 technologists in the dialysis department of 43 facilities in Japan. Five satisfaction factors were derived by applying principal component analysis with 61% of cumulative variance accounted for. Physicians, nurses and technologists in the dialysis department shared a similar trend of job satisfaction that they were more satisfied with leadership, and communication and teamwork among the five factors, whereas their satisfaction level was relatively low with salary and welfare conditions. Physicians expressed the strongest satisfaction with any factor while nurses were the least satisfied. Nurses' and technologists' overall job satisfaction was mostly determined by satisfaction with self‐actualization, and work demands and workload. A five‐factor construct of dialysis employee satisfaction was identified. Overall job satisfaction of dialysis nurses and technologists were not overly high in Japan, and this seems to be caused by their relatively low satisfaction with self‐actualization and with work demands and workload. Therefore, it is suggested that their work conditions and environment must be improved to support their self‐actualization and to reduce their workload.
Today, effective quality management is a factor in organizing the institution ensuring its market success in a competitive information and library market. New approaches appeared to increase the ...organization effectiveness. The introduction of a Balanced Scorecard (BS) is an approach that based on a causal relationship between strategic objectives reflecting their parameters and the factors for obtaining the planned results. The BS provides a new approach to the strategic management of institutions of any size, different spheres of ownership and activities. Analysis of BS implementation in an organization with an existing quality management system (QMS) allows asserting them should be used as complementary approaches. Based on the results of this study, the specialists of the Republican Medical Library and Information Center (RMLIC) of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Tatarstan carried out preparatory work to implement their own system. We started with customer demands satisfaction by products and services, monitoring and measuring this satisfaction. The main argument for making this decision is that the information obtained after monitoring and measuring customer satisfaction will serve as the basis to determine the strategic reference points (mission, values, vision) of the library and information center. Satisfaction indirect indicators have been taken into account; a method of brainstorming is used to systematize the judgments on the quality of provided products and services: library, bibliographic, information services and information-library products to health professionals (selective dissemination of information, differentiated servicing of managers), information and legal services. The results obtained and the conclusions drawn will be used to improve the quality management system of RMLIC and the activities of the Center as a whole. They should be applied in other libraries implementing a quality management system
