The goal of this study was to determine the impact of employing a Three-Step Interview on students' speaking abilities. This study's population consisted of all 80 students in their first year at MAN ...Talang Leak Kabupaten Lebong. The sample consisted of 56 individuals drawn from two courses. The students were separated into two groups: the experimental group got therapy utilizing the Three-Step-Interview method, while the control group was taught using traditional methods. The data will be collected using several methods in the exam. The pre-test will be given once before the therapy begins, and the post-test will be given once the study is completed. This research includes seven treatment meetings. It is based on MAN Talang Leak's academic timetable and semester program. The post-test would be given to the students after they had received seven treatments for each topic. The results from this study will be statistically analyzed using the t-test for the pre-and post-tests. The post-test will be used to collect data on the influence of using the Three-Step-Interview method on students' speaking performance. The disparity between the two classes was substantial. According to the data analysis, the outcome demonstrates that the Three-Step-Interview approach may increase students' speaking abilities. It is possible to conclude that the usage of the Three-Step-Interview had a beneficial influence on students' speaking skills. Based on the findings, teachers are advised to utilize the Three-Step-Interview approach when training senior high school pupils to talk.
The purpose of this research was to develop a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) model in learning personality development as an effort to improve students' public speaking skills. FGD learning model ...enables students to possess the ability to think critically, creatively, and innovatively in preparing group presentations and discussions. The results of the implementation of FGD model were expected to be able to develop and enhance students’ public speaking skills, so they have competitiveness in facing of society 5.0. This research was conducted in six steps of development based on the ASSURE model. The development of FGD learning model consisting of presentations and discussions was conducted online and gathering data about audience’s opinion was carried out based on the specified themes. The object of this research was the students who took Personal Development and public speaking courses. The results of data analysis obtained an average score = 8.1 from a maximum score = 10 and a standard deviation = 1.8 which was derived based on 10 components of public speaking skills assessment. The grade was categorized into A (Excellence), B (Good), and E (Failed).
Project based learning (PBL) is an appropriate and applicable learning method in all levels of education. In this method, the lecturer acts as a facilitator or the one who takes a main role in ...teaching and learning process. The aim of PBL is to solve problems and develop students’ critical thinking. It also encouraged the students’ way of thinking in doing or creating something. This method was implemented in English for Management class at. It was expected to make the students to be more creative facilitated by a discussion, sharing, and collaboration work. The aim of this study was to describe the implementation of PBL in non-English department class (Management department class) and to know the effect of PBL in students’ speaking ability. There were 25 students selected as the sample. The methodology used pre-experimental design. Data were collected by observation to answer the first research question and test to answer the second research question. The acquired quantitative data were analysed statistically by paired sample T-test. The research found a significant effect of PBL to the students’ speaking ability. It was also an effective methodology in teaching speaking because it made the students to be more active and innovative in doing the task and joining the class. Thus, it is strongly recommended to apply this teaching method in speaking class as an alternative way to improve students’ speaking competency.
This study aims to find evidence of the method learning storytelling can improve students speaking ability at SMA Negeri 5 Metro. The total sample involved was 59 students. The method used in this ...studys a quasi-experimental. The result of Data analysis showed that the post-test mean score was higher than the pre-test (54.06 > 44.27). This shows the results of the analysis which show that the t value obtained is higher than the t table (17,067 > 2,048). then the second data shows that the t-test value obtained is greater than the t-table (3,269 > 2.021), it can be concluded that learning to speak using storytelling in the even semester of class XI SMA Negeri 5 Metro can improve abilities. Therefore, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This means that the use of story telling provides an improvement in students' speaking.
This research aims to explore the effectiveness of implementing the Mim-Mem (Mimicry-Memorization) Method with the support of visual media in enhancing Arabic speaking proficiency in a school ...environment. The Mim-Mem Method combines mimicry for better understanding and memorization for vocabulary reinforcement, while visual media is utilized as a clear representation of the learning material. The research methodology employed is classroom action research with students from grade XI A at SMP IT Sahabat Alam Pelabuhan Ratu Sukabumi as the subjects. Data were collected through observations, tests, and field notes over two research cycles. The results were analyzed to measure the improvement in students' speaking abilities. The research findings demonstrate a significant enhancement in students' speaking skills after applying the Mim-Mem Method with visual media. The average scores increased from 64 in the pre-test to 81 in the post-test, indicating the effectiveness of this method as a learning approach. The discussion involves in-depth analysis regarding the positive impact of the Mim-Mem Method with visual media on Arabic speaking skills among students. The novelty of this research lies in the innovative combination of methods with a visual approach, providing an effective solution to learning challenges. In conclusion, the implementation of the Mim-Mem Method with visual media makes a positive contribution to improving Arabic speaking skills among students at SMP IT Sahabat Alam Pelabuhan Ratu Sukabumi. Recommendations for future research could focus on further developing this method, including variations in teaching approaches and more specific adjustments to students' characteristics. Additionally, further studies could explore the effectiveness of this method in higher education contexts or different educational environments.
Speaking is an ability to use the language in oral form to express what is on language learners’ thinking. Learners have speaking skills if they have skills to practice grammar, comprehension, ...vocabulary, pronunciation, and fluency in the oral form. To attain the speaking skills, English teachers are encouraged to meet an appropriate learning strategy to be applied in the speaking classes. This study is a collaborative classroom action research. It is aimed at describing how the use of pyramid discussion to enhance students’ speaking performance and classroom interaction. Its steps consisted of Planning, Acting, Observing, and Reflecting. This research was conducted at the 8th-grade students of SMPN 1 Praya Timur, Central Lombok. There were three instruments employed to obtain the data namely test, observation sheet, and questionnaire. After having the cycle 1, the findings showed that there were 16 students who got score more than 70. The calculation of the mean score was 77.30. Meanwhile, the tabulation of the percentage was 88.90. The data of the observation sheet indicated that the students were enthusiastic in classroom interaction and they feel interested in learning English. The research findings showed that the mean score was 83.22. It could be concluded that the use of pyramid discussion was able to improve students’ speaking performance and classroom interaction at the 8th-grade students of SMPN 1 Praya Timur, Central Lombok.
This research was was conducted as a result of the lack of students' ability to speak in the learning process, such as telling a story and asking and answering teacher questions. Role play was ...expected to improve students' speaking ability. This research was conducted at SDN 005 Pulau Kumpai, Kecamatan Pangean. The instrument of this research was the observation sheet for obtaining information about students' speaking ability. The results revealed that students 'speaking ability in the first cycle was 67.05 which was in sufficient category. Unfortunately, this result did not reached the expected indicators, so the research was revised and continued to cycle II. In this cycle, the students' speaking ability achieved an average percentage of 75.29 which was included in good category. Students were enthusiastic to participate in learning due to having the motivation to show their best to other students and teachers in front of the class. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that the students’ speaking ability for the theme of “Kegiatanku” at grade 1 SDN 005 Pulau Kumpai, Kecamatan Pangean increased through role play method.
This research is aimed at finding out the effectiveness of using the phonetic method in improving students’ speaking at civil vocational high school number four (SMKN 4) in Palopo. This research ...employed pre-experimental design. The population of this research is the first grade students at SMKN 4 Palopo. It consists of 2 classes and the total number of population is 41 students. This research used cluster sampling technique, the sample of this research is the class B where consists 20 students. The instrument in collecting the data is speaking test. The treatment of this research is phonetic aspect in six times meeting, based on the data analysis, the writer find out the mean score of pretest is 36.80 it is classified very poor and mean score of posttest is 65.00 it is classified average. Its mean that data show students’ speaking ability is effective improve by using phonetic metod. The result of statistical analysis for level of significant (p=0.05) with degree freedom (df)=N-1, where (N-20), df=19. The probability value is smaller than α (0.00 < 0.05). It indicates that the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) is rejected. The result give the confirmation about phonetic method can improve students’ ability in speaking.

However, little study has been done to see ...how teachers' knowledge and opinions about how effective strategies affect implementation. Focus on the challenges and opportunities in Kampus Mengajar Program by implementing the English learning strategies in 16 Elementary School, this study aims to determine which technique is the most beneficial and what barriers participants face when implementing English learning in elementary schools as part of the Kampus Mengajar Program. The participants were English Department students' that participated in Kampus Mengajar Program at Tidar University consisting of 16 students. A questionnaire with open ended questions was used as the instrument in this survey. Playing games, using songs, using interactive media, and repetition were the four most commonly used strategies in teaching English language skills to young learners. These findings may be beneficial to those who teach English or work with young learners.
The study aims to assess the role of linguistic and non-linguistic barriers on the English-speaking abilities of Saudi EFL learners. A cross-sectional design was adopted and convenience sampling was ...employed to recruit the EFL learners in Saudi Universities. An online survey was conducted. Descriptive statistics, t-tests, and factor analysis were performed. The results of the study showed that non-linguistic barriers, affecting English-speaking capabilities included fear of making mistakes, shyness, anxiety, confidence, and a lack of interest. Where the most significant factor was confidence in to impact of English speaking. Moreover, among linguistic barriers i.e., grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation, vocabulary was the most significant factor to influence the English-speaking ability of the Saudi EFL students. However, no gender-wise discrepancies were found in experiencing these barriers. The study concluded that there was no significant difference between male and female learners. Both genders faced linguistic and non-linguistic barriers. However, pronunciation errors, a lack of vocabulary, and poor knowledge about grammatical structure were the linguistic barriers, faced by the students.
