According to the Achievement Goals Theory, the motivational climate plays an important role for players to have positive experiences during physical activity. The present pilot study aimed to examine ...whether the mini-basketball players had different perceptions of their motivational climate depending on the game outcome. It is a pilot study that followed the selective methodology to investigate the relationship between winning and losing and the motivational climate. Participants were 72 mini-basketball players aged 8-11 years (Myears = 9.96, SD = 1.52) from six masculine teams. Data were collected during one mini-basketball season, in which players completed the Perceived Motivational Climate in Sport Questionnaire-2 after each of the 10 game days. Lineal regression analysis was performed. The results showed no association between a task-oriented motivational climate and game outcome. However, it was found that players from teams that won reported higher ego values. Accordingly, the results of this study reflect that social comparison was associated with greater ego orientation. This work suggests continuous training of coaches to foster a task-oriented motivational climate in their players through different strategies.
The quality of the musculoskeletal system in children is important in terms of primary prevention of postural disorders in adulthood. The aim of the pilot study was to assess the impact of the ...Propriofoot Concept exercises within the physical and sports education classes on the postural health of female students with an emphasis on the foot, joint range of the ankle, the gait, pain elimination and overall body posture as a manifestation of its functionality. The sample consisted of Ʃ n = 27 high-school female students in age(x) 16.3 ± 0.7 years. In terms of data collection methods, standardized procedures and methods for physical education and physiotherapy practice were applied, focusing on the selected factors (an emphasis on the foot, joint range of the ankle, the gait, pain elimination and overall body posture) of the musculoskeletal system. Diagnostics were applied before and after the 6-month program. The obtained results show that the exercise programme based on the Propriofoot Concept had a significant (Wtest, p < 0.01) and positive effect on the structure and function of the foot, as well as flexion and extension at the ankle joint, which resulted in the elimination of foot pain and improvement of gait. The final assessment (V2) showed that the foot structure and function improved (p < 0.01) and had a positive influence on the overall body posture, as well as its individual segments, in which we found significant changes between V1 and V2. At the same time, we found a relationship between foot functionality and overall body posture, as well as between other monitored factors. These findings point to the importance of targeted exercises, implemented in physical and sports education, to female students’ postural health.
In recent years, the value of social learning approaches as part of the design and delivery of formalised coach development initiatives has gained credence in the literature. However, insight is ...currently lacking into the fundamental social dimensions that underpin coach learning. Accordingly, this study aimed to explore coaches' perceptions of their actual and preferred methods of acquiring new coaching knowledge, the types of knowledge they currently acquire and/or desire, and their application of new knowledge. Responses to an online survey, completed by practicing coaches (N = 320) in a range of sports and contexts, were analysed descriptively and inductively. Results revealed that coaches preferred, and mostly acquired, coaching knowledge from informal learning activities, especially when these permitted social interaction. Notably, however, formal coach education courses were also reported relatively frequently as a source of recent knowledge acquisition. Nevertheless, critical justification for and application of acquired knowledge was largely absent. Based on the findings, we suggest that, before social learning activities such as mentoring schemes and communities of practice are placed at the centre of formalised coach development provision, coach educators must put in place the support structures to better enable coaches to recognise and deal with the potentially mixed influences of the social milieu on coach learning, aiming to ensure that their informal development is sufficiently open-minded, reflective and critical.
This study aims to determine the achievement level in each competency given to students and to know the average percentage of post-e-learning student scores. The research method used is quantitative ...with descriptive statistical techniques. This research population is sports education students 2017, 2018, and 2019 active students, with a sample of 10% of the population. The determination of this sample is based on purposive sampling. Data collection techniques using test instruments, in the form of questions and semester exam results. The research data analysis technique uses descriptive statistical methods obtained during the 2019-2020 semester, namely the Final Semester Examination value. After feeling that it is sufficient to obtain data and process, it will get the research results after feeling that it is enough to get the data and processed to get the research results. The results of the study found that effective learning was seen from 83% of students getting course scores with an average of above 75 at the time of the final even semester examinations in 2019-2020, and it can be concluded that the effectiveness of e-learning in Sports Education students at the Indonesian Technocrat University was successful. With a student passing rate above 80%. It is hoped that this e-learning process will be further developed with a better platform for facing future generations where the role of technology is a significant thing in meeting the changing times.
The study of aggressiveness in combat sports has already been the subject of much debate in the international research literature. Most often, the aggressive behaviours of practitioners are apprehended from questionnaires allowing to infer their personality traits and their dispositions to act. This research, carried out in physical and sports education (PSE), proposes to measure the level of aggressiveness of students practising French boxing by using a direct observation method in free assault (n = 91 ; boxers = 182 ; females = 79 ; males = 103). The quantitative method chosen (p<0.05) couples the level of aggressiveness expressed by the pupils to four didactic variables : the form of practice, the grouping modes, the presence or absence of social roles, and the spatial arrangements. The results show that males have a higher level of aggressiveness than females and that each of the variables influences more or less significantly the level of aggressiveness of the boxers. These conclusions open up perspectives for thinking about the teaching of French boxing in PES and positively questioning the theme of aggressiveness in physical and sports activities.

The purpose of this paper is to present the interdisciplinary problem of giftedness and talent in the Slovene elementary school system and attempt to meaningfully interpret the terminology of both ...terms for the field of sport education. Despite the considerable attention paid to researching the changing understanding of giftedness in relation to talent, talent in sports environments and the applicable value of conceptualization are still not known. One reason for this is that sports talent has not been adequately defined in the Slovenian program and legislative platforms.
Introduction The prevalence of developmental coordination disorder (DCD) is increasing and it has been shown that the main problem of children with DCD is their low motor proficiency. Therefore, it ...is important to find a way to improve motor skills in these children. Thus, this study aimed to compare the effect of teaching games for understanding (TGFU), sport education (SE), combined (TGFU and SE), and linear pedagogy (LP) on motor proficiency of children with DCD. Methods In this regard, among 7-year-old children in Turkey, 80 children were selected voluntarily and by evaluating the MABCD-2 test. These children were randomly placed in four-LP (control), SE, TGFU, and combined (SE-TGFU) groups and practiced futsal exercises for 16 sessions under the supervision of coaches specific to each method. BOT-2 short-form test was used to evaluate motor proficiency. Results The results of the analysis of the covariance test showed that the group effect is significant, and the results of the post hoc LSD test showed a significant difference between the LP with SE, LP with TGFU, LP with combination, SE with TGFU, SE with combination and TGFU with combination groups ( p = <0.001). Discussion Based on the results of this study, the combined method is the best compared to other methods. Generally, combining games as an important activity in childhood with SE that emphasizes improving the child’s self-esteem is a method that can solve the movement competence that is the main problem of DCD children and lead them to continue physical activity.
