The purpose of this article is to determine the factors that influence the motivations of the 39th Istanbul Marathon volunteers towards this event. This study was conducted on a total of 196 ...volunteers, 95 male and 101 female. Information about the participants was provided by Sport Events Volunteer Motivation Scale (SEVMS). For the statistical evaluation of the study, first factor analysis was conducted in order to determine whether the SEVMS provided a basic pattern of the scale and reliability analysis was conducted to determine whether it was measuring a holistic structure. Since Bartlett's test for sphericity Chi-square value was 2582.64 (p lt;0.05) and Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin value was 0.849 as a result of the reliability and factor analyses, it was concluded with factor analysis that the items could create patterns at high levels. According to the results of the study, it was found that in terms of the students’ departments, there were statistically significant differences in purposive, solidary and external traditions sub-dimensions and volunteer motivation total scores in favour of sport students and graduates. Therefore, it should be ensured that the success of the organization is increased by providing the individuals who have received or who are receiving education in the field of sport to participate in sports events. In addition to this, efforts should be made so that the students who are studying in the field of sport can experience the subjects they study in school. Another important result of the study is that external traditions sub-dimension scores of volunteers who have low English level are higher when compared with volunteers who have moderate and high levels of English. This is because international sport events provide volunteers a chance to improve foreign language skills. In this regard, volunteers who have low foreign language levels should be appointed with foreign language-knowing volunteers and their expectations should be met and they should be given opportunities to become global citizens in the globalizing world.
The purpose of this study was to identify and clarify the qualities and abilities of sport event producers who plan and manage sport events from interview data obtained from producers. First, we ...conducted a preliminary survey on what kind of human resources sport event producers are, and narrowed down the research target to producers of women's professional golf tournaments. Nine respondents were selected by snowball sampling, and interviews were conducted, and the KJ method was used for analysis. The results revealed the ability to set up a competition venue and to build relationships with stakeholders, in addition to the qualities and abilities shown in previous studies. The results of this study suggest the possibility of developing human resources who can produce various types of sporting events beyond competitions, and contribute to the mobility and networking of producers.
Attending sport, music and cultural events is a favorite leisure activity, thus creating multi-billion dollar markets. Existing research on what drives repatronage of such events has focused on ...individual-based variables such as satisfaction. This research highlights the relevance of consumer-consumer interaction for attendees' willingness to return to an event in the future. Results from two field studies show that temporary communitas—a temporary sense of closeness and camaraderie among event attendees—is a driver of willingness to return and that, surprisingly, its impact on willingness to attend the event again even surpasses that of satisfaction with the event. The positive effect of increasing temporary communitas disappears, however, when perceived crowding at an event becomes too high.
This study examined motivational orientations as a key to fostering love for sports events. This study articulates the moderating role of sports involvement in the relationship between love for ...sports events and an intention to co-create value. A total of 353 usable completed questionnaires were used to test the conceptual model using a generalised structured component analysis. The results of structural equation modelling indicated that love for events was driven by enjoyment motivation and self-congruence. Love for sports events also mediated the relationships between intention in co-creating value and both enjoyment motivation and self-congruence. This study contributes to the literature by expanding cognitive appraisal theory by indicating the impact from a psychological perspective on sports consumption behaviour.
It has been argued that all serious leisure activity is founded upon a strong sense of companionship and community. Besides, social capital is widely believed to generate mutual understanding and ...communal reciprocity. Sport event volunteering is considered a form of serious leisure.
However, the interrelationships between these concepts deserve further investigation. This study analyzed the interrelationships between serious leisure volunteering and social capital acquisition of 311 World Masters Games volunteers using a structural equation model. Moreover, differences
between groups of volunteers were assessed. The findings revealed a significant relationship between serious leisure and social capital. For example, local volunteers identified significantly more with serious leisure volunteering than those from outside of the host region.
Objectives: (i) describe the profile of the volunteers at an adapted sporting event; (ii) know the motivations and expectations of the volunteers who participated in an international adapted swimming ...sporting event, and (iii) study the influence of the variation of motivation and expectations, before and after volunteering, and their intention to repeat the volunteering experience. Methodology: 74 volunteers (29 males and 45 females) participated in the study, aged between 18 and 77 years (34.57 ± 18.22). All participants completed an anonymous questionnaire on the motivations and expectations for participation as volunteers in sporting events based on the model for assessing the expectations of volunteers (Downward & Ralston, 2005), before and after volunteering at the European Adapted Swimming Championship (2016) that lasted 8 days. The T test for paired samples was used to study the differences before and after volunteering in terms of motivation and expectation. Pearson's correlations allowed analyzing the association between the degree of satisfaction and the intention to repeat the experience with the 7 dimensions under study. Multiple linear regression was used to determine the effect of varying the dimensions of motivation and expectations on the degree of satisfaction and to repeat the experience. The statistical software used was SPSS, version 26.0. Results and discussion: The dimensions of personal experience and participation in the community were the most valued, while the dimension of the tradition of volunteering was the least considered before and after the event. Between the two moments, there are differences with statistical significance (p <0.05) in the dimensions: (i) work opportunities; (ii) tradition of volunteering; (iii) esteem, and (iv) selfishness. On average, there is a devaluation of the dimensions of job opportunity (2.88 ± 0.93 vs 2.46 ± 1.07) and tradition of volunteering (2.57 ± 0.86 vs 2.35 ± 0.67) and an appreciation of the dimensions esteem (2.77 ± 0.82 vs 3.12 ± 0.92) and selfishness (2.86 ± 0.84 vs 3.24 ± 0.84). When asked about the degree of satisfaction with the volunteering experience, it appears that the majority report being satisfied, very or extremely satisfied (17.1%, 25.7% and 37.1%, respectively). Conclusion: it is concluded that the organization of the international sports event that falls under the category of sport major event is important for the participation of the volunteer in order to promote learning and the development of personal experiences and encourage the participation of the local community. It is also concluded that in the culture of participation in volunteering in sport, not being a characteristic of this population, the degree of satisfaction of the volunteers was high, both young people and those of more advanced age, for having had enriching experiences, expressed their intention to have a similar experience again

Partnerships with companies or sponsorships cannot be separated in the implementation of sporting events; even sponsorship is a significant investment given by companies in the sports industry. ...However, every company has considerations before sponsoring a sporting event, one of the influencing factors is the attitude of the organizing committee to the company that is a potential sponsor. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the importance of the committee's attitude toward the company's decision to sponsor a sporting event. By using quantitative descriptive research and survey methods, this study collected data from 33 companies that met the criteria of having sponsored a sporting event and were willing to participate in the study by completing a willingness sheet. The data is taken from a questionnaire filled out by the Company Owner or the company's Marketing Department by first answering questions about the duration of work in the company. Then, respondents responded to statements that came from four indicators, namely the relationship between the committee and the company, the company's interest in the committee, the committee provided a sense of comfort for the company in working together, and the company felt benefited from working together, with the answer strongly agree, agree, disagree, and strongly disagree. After that, the data was analyzed using excel and shown in graph on percentages to explain that the indicator of comfort in working together plays the highest role with a total of 42.42% strongly agree and 48.48% agree. Indirectly, this facet provides information to future sports organizers to assist them in obtaining funding for sports events through a win-win situation or mutualistic relationship.
