This paper presents empirical research about delinquency in informal youth groups in Lithuania. The theoretical basis of this research - theory of delinquency and drift, created in the midst of the ...XX th century by David Matza - famous USA criminologist, whose efforts to combine positivist point of view with classical ideas gave way to a new - critical School of criminology. Empirical research was carried out in three youth groups: football fans group “ultra”, nationalistic group - skinheads and motorbike club - “Vorai”. The main tasks of this research were to identify, what kind - “delinquent subculture” or “subculture of delinquency” - these groups are and to explore the process of drifting from conventional to delinquent behavior by using techniques of neutralization.
The results show, that these groups are an integral part of conventional society and have no features of “delinquent subculture” as it was depicted in positivistic theories. The members of the groups are normal teenagers, who by definition (but not by nature) are delinquents as far as they do infractions. To make an infraction these teens use different techniques of neutralization.
Straipsnyje pristatomas trijų neformalių Lietuvos jaunimo grupių: futbolo fanų “ultrų”, nacionalistiškai nusiteikusio jaunimo “skinhead'ų” ir baikerių klubo “Vorai” kokybinis tyrimas. Čia, vadovaujantis JAV kriminologo Davido Matza’os delinkvencijos teorija, analizuojama delinkvencijos raiška šiose grupėse siekiant dviejų pagrindinių uždavinių: pirma, išsiaiškinti, kokiai – “delinkventinei” ar “delinkvencijos”- raiškai priskirtinos grupės; ir antra, išnagrinėti, kaip vyksta socialinių normų neutralizacijos procesas ir dreifas nuo konvencinių normų laikymosi iki nusižengimo. Tyrimo metodas – giluminiai struktūrizuoti interviu. Darbo rezultatai parodė, jog grupės turi “delinkvencijos”, bet ne “delinkventinės” subkultūros bruožų, o grupių nariai yra normalūs, neutralizavę socialinių normų poveikį, paaugliai, kartais darantys nusižengimus.

Cannabis ble introdusert i Norge på 1960-tallet, i kjølvannet av ungdomsopprøret som rullet over den vestlige verden. Bruken var stabil på 1970- og 80-tallet, men økte kraftig på 1990-tallet og ble ...da knyttet til teorien om «normalisering». Det ble hevdet at cannabis var i ferd med å spre seg til helt vanlige ungdomsgrupper. Bruken av cannabis øker nå igjen i Oslo. Har økningen vært knyttet til en «normalisering» som det ble hevdet skjedde på 1990-tallet? Vi bruker surveystudien Ung i Oslo, som har pågått fra 1996 til 2018. Elever fra grunnskolen og videregående skole har deltatt. Mest inngående blir materialet fra 2015 (N = 21.017) og 2018 (N = 23.261) belyst. Det ble samlet inn data om cannabisbruk, sosiodemografiske kjennetegn, foreldrerelasjoner, skoleresultater, angst og depresjon, ensomhet og atferdsproblemer. Bruken av cannabis var høy på 1990-tallet og stabiliserte seg så på et lavere nivå etter årtusenskiftet. Den økte så markant fra 2015 til 2018. Da var det nærmere 40 % av guttene i slutten av videregående skole som hadde brukt stoffet. Brukerne fortsatte likevel å rapportere flere psykososiale problemer enn andre, som dårligere oppfølging av foreldre, svake skoleresultater, atferdsproblemer, angst og depresjon. Slike problemer var mer uttalt blant de yngre enn eldre brukerne. Konklusjonen er at økningen i bruken av cannabis ikke er knyttet til noen klar «normalisering» av brukerne. Særlig de yngste brukerne har fortsatt mange psykososiale utfordringer. Funnene peker imidlertid mot et paradoks: Bruken er høyest i Oslo vest hvor levekårene er bedre enn øst i byen. Hos de eldste brukerne er det også en positiv sammenheng til høy sosiale klasse og brukerne har flere nære venner enn ikke-brukerne. Vi trenger derfor mer forskning på hvordan tradisjonelle risikofaktorer spiller sammen med sosial klasse, oppvekst- og skolekulturer, nettverk og grad av integrasjon.
Basert på en serie intervjuer utført i 2010, retter artikkelen søkelyset mot et tidligere lite utforsket transnasjonalt ungdomskulturelt fellesskap som omtales som «emo», og som ofte er assosiert med ...depressivitet og ulike former for selvskading. Emo oppstod i kjølvannet av hardcore punkscenen i Washington DC på 1980-tallet, og har gjennomgått en rekke transformasjoner underveis. Emo-betegnelsen er avledet fra ordet emotions, og indikerer at følelsene blir sett som sentrale. Her vises hvordan ungdommene benytter populærkulturelle uttrykk i form av musikk, tekster, filmer, spill, tegneserier og klær, til å gi uttrykk for og reflektere over sentrale og problematiske hendelser i deres egne liv. Emo-subkulturen slik den «gjøres» og transformeres i en større norsk by analyseres som et uttrykk for motstand mot hva som omtales som «perfeksjonstyranniet», og har også betydelige selvterapeutiske trekk.
The aims of this article is to discuss and interpret the internal hierarchical principles of Lithuanian rave subculture. The article is based on 11 conversations, acquired through an informal ...interviews with the representatives of Lithuanian rave culture. The interviews were held in January and February of 1998. The analysis of the interviews revealed certain stereotypes defined through binary distinctions: alternative-commercial, underground culture-mass media, center-periphery, male raver-female raver, and true raver-fake raver. The analysis is developed by discussing the role of stereotypic distinctions for the internal hierarchy of the subculture.
Šio straipsnio tikslas - nustatyti ir aptarti Lietuvos reivo subkultūros vidinės hierarchijos principus bei interpretuoti juos. Straipsnio šaltinis - vienuolika pokalbių, parengtų vadinamojo nestruktūrinio interviu pagrindu, su Lietuvos reivo kultūros atstovais. Su jais kalbėtasi 1998 m. sausio bei vasario mėn. Interviu analizė atskleidė tam tikrus jaunimo stereotipus, susijusius su tokiomis dvinarėmis priešpriešomis: alternatyvus/komercinis, pogrindžio kultūra/žiniasklaida, centras/periferija, reiveris/reiverė, "tikras reiveris"/"orinis reiveris". Pateikėjai skirtingus asmenis stereotipiškai apibūdindavo kaip "geresnius" ar "prastesnius" reiverius, o tai leidžia kalbėti apie tam tikrą reliatyvią perskyrą tarp "subkultūros elito" ir "subkultūros masių". Siekiant atskleisti subkultūros vidinės hierarchijos principus, straipsnyje analizuojami su minėtomis priešpriešomis susiję stereotipai.
