The objective of this paper is to present an approach to identify the critical success factors (CSFs) of motivation and encouragement, for the successful implementation of SSCM practices in Indian oil and gas industries. 32 CSFs were identified from the literature and opinions of academicians and industry practitioners. The Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) methodology was used for establishing the mutual relationships among the drivers, which not only helps in understanding the relative relationship between the CSFs but also in determining their interdependence while implementing sustainability. Further, the importance of CSFs with respect to sustainability was identified based on their driving and dependence power by using MICMAC analysis. “Global Climatic Pressure and Ecological Scarcity of Resources” was determined to be the most influential criterion that may force industries to implement sustainable practices. An example of Indian oil and gas industry has been presented to show the real-world applicability of the proposed model. This study may help academicians, government regulators, and practitioners to emphasize their efforts towards implementation of SSCM at various levels of organization.

The objectives of this study are to identify and systematize scholarly articles on the use of information system to support sustainable supply chain management and to suggest future research opportunities. Therefore, a structured literature review was conducted. The most relevant studies identified were classified and categorized into seven dimensions: research context, research focus, research method, sector analyzed, information system (IS) beneficiaries, relationship between IS and green supply chain practices, and performance benefits. The main authors and articles on this particular topic were identified. In addition, it was concluded that IS is an important support tool for sustainable supply chain management practices since it brings benefits to the organization, suppliers, and customers. Furthermore, IS positively influences the operational, financial, and environmental performance of the organization. However, further advances in the literature are still needed. The major contribution of this research is related to the recommendations that provide opportunities for future research.
By applying the resources-based view (RBV) theory to green management, this study aims to analyse the relationship between critical success factors (CSFs) and the adoption of green supply chain ...management (GSCM) practices for some Brazil-based manufacturers of automotive batteries considered focal in their supply chains. It also analyses how human issues, known as green human resource management (GHRM) aspects, can help to increase the effectiveness of CSFs for GSCM strategies that are still not totally well-managed, justifying a RBV perspective. This research assumes that firms tend to be in different stages of GSCM development (more strategic or less strategic) and tests four research propositions to determine whether more proactive GSCM is related to higher levels of effectively managed CSFs. Three focal companies that operate in the Brazilian automotive battery industry were studied. Research results suggest that more proactive GSCM practices correlate to more effectively managed CSFs and to a greater support from GHRM. We argue that managers with a clear GHRM strategy will have more success in GSCM adoption, using more green training, green recruitment and selection, green performance evaluation and employee rewards.
The purpose of this paper is to investigate the research development in supply chain resilience. We undertake a literature survey to review the literature on enterprise and supply chain resilience. ...We aim to provide a platform for researchers and practitioners trying to identify the existing state of the work, gaps in current research, and future directions on the topic. For this purpose, we employed two methods to collect publications in supply chain resilience. First, we selected keywords and searched the relevant databases and journals. Next, we tracked the references of those papers collected in the first method to look for other publications published in conference proceedings and book chapters. As a result, a sample of 100 papers was collected, studied, and analyzed. We summarize our findings in several areas including enterprise and supply chain resilience definitions, supply chain resilience principles, and supply chain resilience strategies. Based on the assessment, we develop a framework for the principles of supply chain resilience that can be used as a basis for understanding supply chain resilience.

Given the growing importance of service supply chain management (SSCM) in operations, we review a selection of papers in the operations research and the management science (OR/MS) literature that focus on innovative measures associated with the SSCM. First, we review and discuss the definitions of service supply chains (SSCs) and categorize SSCs into the Service Only Supply Chains (SOSCs) and the Product Service Supply Chains (PSSCs). Second, by classifying the literature into three major areas, namely service supply management, service demand management, and the coordination of service supply chains, we derive insights into the current state of knowledge in each area, and examine the evolution of the SSCM research over the past decade. Finally, we identify some associated research challenges and explore future directions for research on SSCM from an operational perspective.

This study reviews the green supply chain management (GSCM) literature and proposes a comprehensive view of the structural associations amongst the GSCM factors, viz. drivers, practice indicators and performance measures. The HistCite software was used to perform bibliometric citation meta-analysis on a sample of 1523 articles, obtained from the ISI Web of Science database. Influential journals, institutions, and trending articles in the GSCM research are revealed. Co-citation analysis coupled with content analysis of the 39 most cited articles identified six underlying research streams, namely (a) conceptual development and sense-making, (b) GSCM impact on performance, (c) integration of green and sustainable operations in the supply chain, (d) green supplier development, (e) GSCM implementation drivers, and (f) review and future research directions. This further led to proposing a comprehensive conceptual framework with logically grouped factors, and directing relationships among the groups. Finally, future research directions claimed by the trending articles in the field were aligned with the findings of the key papers, and an approach to perform non-myopic GSCM research in the future is suggested.
This study empirically investigates the joint effects of relational capital and green supply chain management on financial performance. The hypotheses are empirically tested using structural equation ...modelling and bootstrap methods based on data collected from 308 manufacturing companies in China. The results show that supplier and customer relational capital improve financial performance indirectly through supplier and customer green management, respectively. Internal relational capital improves financial performance indirectly through internal and supplier green management but has no significant indirect effect through customer green management. The results enrich the literature by providing insights into the synergic effects between relational capital and green supply chain management and by providing empirical evidence of the antecedents and consequences of green supply chain management.
Recent trends toward outsourcing and global sourcing have created longer, more complex and more fragmented supply chains. In this research, we aim to instigate a theoretical development of multi‐tier ...supply chain (MSC) management by adopting an inductive case study research design. Following a multiple case research design, we investigate three‐tier supply chains to develop a theory of MSC management. Each of the investigated supply chains consists of a buyer, supplier and supplier's supplier. Based on the case studies, propositions are built concerning how MSCs operate. As an underlying methodology, we first conduct a within‐case analysis and then expand that analysis to the cross‐case context. The results show the impact that the dynamics of the MSC have on power balance, structure, interdependence and relationship stability inherent in MSCs.
PurposeThe objective of this study is to investigate the role of blockchain in reducing the impact of barriers to humanitarian supply chain management (HSCM) using a list of blockchain ...benefits.Design/methodology/approachA decision aid was used to explore the suitability of blockchain in humanitarian supply chains. To achieve that, first, a list of barriers to HSCM was identified. Then, the intuitionistic fuzzy decision-making trial and evaluation laboratory (IF–DEMATEL) method was utilized to determine the relationships and the level of interdependencies among the criteria. Finally, the intuitionistic fuzzyanalytic network process (IF–ANP) technique was employed, as it successfully handles dependencies among the criteria.FindingsThe findings of this study suggest that interorganizational barriers are the most suitable ones, the impacts of which blockchain may alleviate. This study further suggests that trust turned out to be the most significant benefit criterion for the analysis.Research limitations/implicationsThe readers should construe the findings of this study with caution since it was carried out using the data collected from the experts of a particular country. Moreover, the proposed decision aid contemplates a limited set of criteria to assess a possible role of blockchain in overcoming the barriers to HSCM.Practical implicationsThe findings of this study can assist humanitarian supply chain managers to make more judicious assessments on whether they implement the blockchain in humanitarian supply chain operations. Specifically, this research may help decision makers to identify the certain barriers, the impact of which may be reduced by using the blockchain. The findings of this research will also help various decision makers make more rational decisions and allocate their resources more effectively.Originality/valueTo the best of authors’ knowledge, no single study exists to investigate the role of blockchain in reducing the impact of barriers to HSCM using an intuitionistic fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making approach.

In the recent years, research interest in big data has increased substantially and therefore researchers and practitioners have also tried to tap the capabilities of big data to optimise operations and supply chain management. In this paper, the literature relating to the integration of big data with operations and supply chain management is reviewed. In particular, reviewing past work is primarily focused on three key areas of the operations and supply chain management, namely manufacturing, procurement and logistics where big data has been applied. In addition to reviewing past literature, paper also proposes application of big data in operations and supply chain management.
