Tradition of horse-riding falconry and eagle capture custom has been still practiced at a nomadic community of Altaic Kazakhs in Bayan-Ölgii Province in western Mongolia. Eagle hunters normally ...capture their eagles either from the nest or with net/ trap from wild. According to the eagle master's rule, hunting eagles used to be released to the wild again when they reach 4–5 year-old adult by reason of sexual maturity. Nevertheless this tradition endorsed by Kazakh's environmental guardianship, it is now under disappearance and even has been turned into business opportunity for income acquisition with exchange or sales or eagles. With my interview works, captured 222 eagles and separated 167 eagles were specified from 1963–2014. Although new participants are stagnated, a number of captures is gradually increasing for these years. In addition, traditional capture and release custom is not actively chosen, and then “death” and “escape” dominated 38.0% of all separation. This means that TEK and philosophy of nature guardianship need to be succeeded and re-stressed among local horse-riding falconry.

Traditional horse-riding falconry has been still practiced at a community of Altaic Kazakhs in Bayan-Ölgii Province in western Mongolia. However, eagle masters are now declining its population as ...well as traditional art and knowledge for taming and hunting due to massive cultural alteration by tourism. This research discusses vulnerability and resilience of preservation for Altaic Kazakh eagle falconry with reference to research results of ethnography and current social survey from long-term fieldwork. Eventually, cultural sustainability of Altaic Kazakh falconry needs to be supported from the angles of three theoretical frameworks; (1) Natural resource management, especially supporting the population of Golden Eagles, their potential prey animals, and their nesting environment (2) Sustainable development and improvement of animal herding productivity and herder's livelihood, (3) Cultural affairs for protection based on the concept of nature-guardianship in its cultural domain. The series of these sustaining procedures defines that eagle falconry is a hybrid culture which would not preserved only human actions, but also maintenance of animal herding livelihood as crucial social context.
Capgras sendromu (CS) genellikle bir yakınının fiziksel olarak çok benzeyen biriyle değiştiğine sanrısal inancın olmasıyla belirir. Nadir olarak görülen CS, sıklıkla şizofreninin paranoid alttipinin ...seyri sırasında, daha seyrek olarak şizoafektif ve duygudurum bozukluğu ile birlikte görülür. CS'nun psikodinamik çatışmalardan kaynaklandığı düşünülmekle birlikte, son yıllarda organik etiyolojiye bağlı yayımlanmış olgu sayısında belirgin bir artış görülmektedir. Bu yazıda biz başka bir psikiyatrik bozukluğun eşlik etmediği, izole CS hastasını ve beyin SPECT bulgularını sunuyoruz. Beyin SPECT değerlendirmesinde bilateral pariyetal bölgelerde belirgin, bilateral frontal bölgelerde hafif kan akımı azalması bulundu.
Beyin işlev bozukluğunun CS gelişmesinde merkezi rolünün olduğu öne sürülmektedir. Tek taraflı sağ hemisfer lezyonları sol taraf lezyonlarından daha sık görülmekle birlikte, CS olgularının çoğunluğunda iki taraflı tutulum görülmektedir. Patoloji, frontal ve pariyetal korteks başta olmak üzere beynin her bölgesini tutabilmektedir. Bilgisayarlı tomografi çalışmaları CS'nin frontal ve pariyetal loblarda dejenerasyonla ilişkili olduğunu göstermektedir. Bulgularımız CS patogenezinde frontopariyetal işlev bozukluğunun önemini desteklemektedir. CS çalışmaları psikotik yaşantıların nörobiyolojik temellerinin daha fazla anlaşılmasını sağlayacak ve diğer psikotik bozuklukların araştırılması konusunda paradigma geliştirilmesine katkıda bulunacaktır. Biz bu makalede CS nörobiyolojisini gözden geçirdik ve bulgularımızı tartıştık.
Capgras syndrome (CS) is characterized by the delusional belief that a person, usually very close to the patient, has been replaced by a double who is physically very similar to the original. CS is relatively rare, occurring predominantly in course of schizophrenia, particularly of the paranoid sub-type, and less frequently in association with schizoaffective and affective disorder. Recent years have witnessed a sharp increase in the number of published CS cases with an organic etiology; however, CS was considered to have its origins in psychodynamic conflict. We present a patient with the CS and brain SPECT findings whom without psychiatric disorder. As an evaluation of brain SPECT, there have been found a significantly decreased blood flow in bilateral parietal regions and slightly decreased blood flow in bilateral posterior frontal regions. Cerebral dysfunction is proposed to be a central role in CS development. Unilateral right hemisphere lesions occur more frequently than the left; however, the majority of CS cases show bilateral involvement. Pathology involves many parts of the brain, most notably frontal and parietal cortex. Our findings support that frontoparietal dysfunction could be important in the pathogenesis of CS. We reviewed the neurobiology of CS and discussed our findings in this article. CS studies will give a better understanding of the neurobiological basis of psychotic experiences and may contribute to develop a paradigm on researches about other psychotic disorders.
In this study, modelling and simulation results of a single-zone heating and ventilation system of a large office room are introduced. Heating system is controlled by an on-off controller. By ...considering the sinusoidal outdoor air tempareture variation and various outdoor/return air ratios as input parameters, dynamic behaviour of room air tempereture are investigated. For this purpose, MATLAB/Simulink code is used.
Amaç: Dilate kardiyomiyopatili (DKM) hastalarda 99mTc MIBI gated tek-foton emisyon bilgisayarlı tomografi (G-SPECT) ile istirahatte ölçülen bölgesel miyokard perfüzyonu ile doku Doppler ...ekokardiyografi ile ölçülen sol ventrikül bölgesel sistolik ve diyastolik akım hızları arasındaki bağıntı araştırıldı.
Çalışma planı: Çalışmaya fonksiyonel kapasitesi NYHA II-IV olan DKM'li 32 hasta (27 erkek, 5 kadın; ort. yaş 63±12) alındı. Yirmi beş hastada iskemik, yedi hastada iskemik olmayan DKM vardı. G-SPECT ve doku Doppler ölçümleri, sol ventrikül kısa eksende 16 segmente bölünerek bazal, mid ve apikal seviyelerde yapıldı. Her miyokard segmentinde bölgesel 99mTc MIBI tutulumu ve zirve sistolik akım hızı (Sm), erken (Em) ve geç (Am) diyastolik akım hızları değerlendirildi.
Bulgular: Ortalama Sm değeri, iskemik grupta daha yüksek (p=0.007), ortalama 99mTc MIBI tutulum yüzdesi daha düşüktü (p<0.001). İki yöntemle ölçülen ejeksiyon fraksiyonları arasında iskemik (r=0.81, p<0.001) ve iskemik olmayan (r=0.76, p=0.05) grupta çok iyi derecede bağıntı görüldü. İskemik grupta bölgesel perfüzyon değerleri ile Sm, Em ve Em/Am arasında zayıf, ancak anlamlı bir bağıntı vardı. İskemik grupta bölgesel 99mTc MIBI tutulum dört grupta değerlendirildiğinde (>=;%75, %50-75, %25-50, <%25), tutulumu ≥%75 ve %50-75 olanlar ile <%25 olanların Sm değerleri arasında anlamlı fark görüldü (sırasıyla p=0.007, p=0.002). İskemik olmayan grupta Sm, Em ve Em/Am değerleri ile 99mTc MIBI tutulumu arasında bağıntı bulunmadı.
Sonuç: İskemik DKM'de doku Doppler ekokardiyografi ile belirlenen miyokard akım hızları, G-SPECT ile saptanan perfüzyon anormallikleriyle bağıntılıdır.
Objectives: We investigated correlations between regional rest myocardial perfusion and regional systolic and diastolic myocardial velocities assessed by 99mTc MIBI gated single-photon emission computed tomography (G-SPECT) and tissue Doppler echocardiography, respectively, in dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM).
Study design: The study included 32 patients (27 men, 5 women; mean age 63±12 years) with DCM, with NYHA functional capacity II-IV. Twenty-five patients had ischemic, seven patients had nonischemic DCM. G-SPECT and tissue Doppler imaging studies were performed using short axis views of the basal, mid, and apical levels of the left ventricle, which was divided into 16 segments. For each segment, regional 99mTc MIBI uptake and peak systolic (Sm), and early (Em) and late (Am) diastolic velocities were determined.
Results: The mean Sm value (p=0.007) was significantly higher and the mean 99mTc MIBI uptake (p<0.001) was significantly lower in ischemic patients. There was a very good correlation between ejection fractions obtained by the two methods in ischemic (r=0.81, p<0.001) and nonischemic (r=0.76, p=0.05) groups. Regional perfusion levels showed weak but significant correlations with Sm, Em, and Em/Am in the ischemic group. When 99mTc MIBI uptake levels of ischemic patients were assessed in four groups (>=;75%, 75% to 50%, 50% to 25%, <25%), Sm values of the first two were significantly higher than that of the group with <25% uptake (p=0.007, p=0.002, respectively). Sm, Em, and Em/Am values were not correlated with 99mTc MIBI uptake in the nonischemic group.
Conclusion: Myocardial flow velocities determined by Doppler echocardiography are correlated with perfusion abnormalities detected by G-SPECT in ischemic DCM.
Measurements of electrical conductivity, Hall coefficient and thermoelectric power were carried out over the temperature range 136-563 K for GaTe compound grown in single crystal form by modified ...Bridgman technique. The crystals obtained had Positive-type conductivity with a hole concentration of $3.8x1O^{12}$ $cm^{-3}$ at room temperature. Conductivity and Hall mobility at room temperature were evaluated as 4.4 x $10^{-3}$ $ohm^{-1}$ $cm^{-1}$ and 7079 $cm^2$/V-s, respectively. The energy gap width of 1.5 eV was found. The effective mass of holes and electrons at room temperature were 4.16 $m_o$ and 0.1174 $m_o$ , respectively

This thesis seeks to highlight the importance of a geographic and culturally specific knowledge base to guide natural resource management and governance policy, particularly within the West African ...context. In order to demonstrate the level of complexity that may exist within this realm, the Kedougou region of Senegal is used as a case study. Traditional Method of Subsistence (TMoS), Traditional Ecological Knowledge (TEK), and ethnic diversity are considered in order to validate the need to go beyond a superficial involvement of community within models such as Community-based Natural Resource Management (CBNRM). Focus groups were conducted for this case study in order to identify areas of similarity and difference that exist along ethnic lines. Two areas of concern that all ethnic groups agreed upon was a depletion of water resources and a diminished growing season that leads to an annual food shortage in the region. Three primary areas of difference were found to coincide with traditional ethnic boundaries in the region: traditional religious belief, wealth accumulation and social hierarchy. The findings of this research demonstrate that while areas of cohesive community concern may serve as a focal point for CBNRM programs, it is also important to consider areas of ethnic difference which hold the potential to significantly influence sustainable and equitable resource management. For example, while traction methods for intensified agriculture are identified as important by all ethnic groups represented in this thesis: (A) traditional agricultural ethnic groups already have experience with these methods, and may only need access to assistance such as micro-credit opportunities, (B) the pastoral ethnic groups already have an abundance of traction animals, and so equipment may be what is primarily needed, while (C) the horticultural group may not have access to the land necessary for optimal traction agriculture. It is therefore suggested that CBNRM programs must be structured around community variables found along cultural lines in order to be of value to government and non-government conservation programs and policy formation in the region.
