In this paper, we describe a framework for bilingual decoding instruction, with a call for collaborators. Decoding is the ability to apply knowledge of letter-sound correspondences to pronounce ...words. We adopt a standard phonological approach for early instruction that could be expanded to include practice with constructive morphemes, like prefixes and suffixes, and reading for meaning. Decades of research have shown that word decoding is a bottleneck in reading comprehension. Unless children develop sight-word reading capabilities, comprehension of texts is severely hampered. The present approach draws on children’s spoken vocabulary knowledge in their native language as a bridge to decoding in a second language. The goal is to develop a tutoring system that draws on current and forthcoming multimedia technologies, and to implement the system in multilingual countries, e.g.: USA, India, Ukraine and across national borders. As a starting point, the authors will use a web platform https://ethicalengineer.ttu.edu designed in 2017 by the USA, Indian, and Ukrainian collaborators, several of them being co-authors of this paper, as a model for the new website for reading instruction. The Ethical Engineer website demonstrates one mechanism through which instructors can reach out to establish connections within and outside their native country around topics and issues of common interest and support educator cooperation and research development. The new model hopes to achieve success comparable to that of the EthicalEngineer. Using computer-based instruction allows for empirical testing of teaching methods, thereby optimizing the educational process. It is important to take advantage of this to ensure the most effective methods are used in early reading instruction for children.

This research aims to describe the learning by applying peer tutor learning model as an effort to improve the learning outcomes in the linear program of fourth semester students in Mathematics ...education study program of FKIP UM Mataram. The research method used a class action research. The research population was fourth semester students of Mathematics education study program of FKIP UM Mataram, with as many as four students taken as samples. The instruments of the study were the observation results of the learning implementation and the final test result of students study. Analysis of research data on students test results was obtained from the final test result of the learning cycle. The test was said to succeed if 85% of the total students got a value of ≥ 65. Based on the results of the study, the application of peer tutor learning models could improve learning outcomes with the observation result of lecturers and student learning activities were in good criteria. And, the final test score of cycle I had achieved a classical learning standard with a percentage achievement reached 75%.
Shadow education, also widely known as private tutoring or supplementary education, has attracted increasing research attention in the past two decades. The global expansion of shadow education, as ...well as its penetration to different educational stages and social classes, are believed to have far-reaching implications for the overall educational landscape. However, despite a steadily growing body of literature, no study to date has systematically reviewed the influences of shadow education from an ecological perspective. Therefore, borrowing Bronfenbrenner's ecological systems theory, this paper aims to provide a comprehensive overview of how shadow education influences different levels of educational ecosystems (i.e. individuals, micro-, meso-, exo-, and macro-system). Based on 74 empirical studies published between 2000 and 2020, the review reveals complex influences exerted by shadow education on multiple systems (e.g., students, mainstream schooling, families, and larger socioeconomic structures), contributing to a more sophisticated understanding of this phenomenon. The paper then discusses how the rise of shadow education creates significant changes to the ecology of education in which it operates, and concludes with implications for future practice and research.
•The first systematic review in the field of shadow education.•Reviewed the influences of shadow education from an ecological perspective.•74 empirical studies were included.•Complex, interrelated influences on different system levels in the ecology of education are identified.

Given the prevalence of cancer and leishmaniasis worldwide, the presence of these two pathologies in the same tissue sample may be merely fortuitous. The clinical outcome of both ...diseases is under the control of innate and adaptive immunity, and in both cases these progressive diseases are characterized by an impaired host Th1 response. As a consequence, the Th2 cytokine microenvironment occurring in progressive leishmaniasis may potentially promote tumor cell proliferation and vice versa. On the other hand, clinical aspects of subclinical cutaneous or visceral leishmaniasis sometimes closely resemble those observed in various neoplasms thus leading to misdiagnosis. In this review, we present recent findings on the association between leishmaniasis and malignant disorders. Our review includes HIV positive, HIV negative subjects and patients whose HIV status has not been established. Leishmaniasis mimicking a malignant disorder was confirmed and extended to unreported neoplastic disorders including squamous cell carcinoma, T-cell and B-cell lymphoma, oral and intranasal tumors and granulomas. Thus, leishmaniasis should be considered in the differential diagnosis and course of various cancers in Leishmania endemic areas or in patients with travel history to these areas. We also listed recent reports showing that Leishmania can promote cancer development in immunocompromised as well as in immunocompetent patients. The potential mechanisms supporting this promoting effect are discussed.
This article describes a solution for learning how to build the method of frequency characteristics of the control object. Nowadays, the level of competencies required in the work of a modern ...engineer is becoming higher and higher, and the more difficult it is to provide the necessary level of knowledge and skills using only the traditional approach. This problem can be solved by implementing automated learning systems that will relieve teachers, reach more students, and unify the quality of work. The subject of the research is the possibility of building a certain abstract system that will be able to provide complex skills for students in an automatic mode. The basis for this research is a complex task that requires various skills from the learner. As a system that requires well-developed skills, we can cite the system of construction of the frequency characteristics of the control object. This work studied the methods for building such systems, as well as to study the learning ability of students and for extracting the most frequent and possible errors of students. The goal is to design and run a system that allows the student to acquire skills in constructing the frequency characteristics of an object. This work allows use of one of the possible methods for implementing such a task, as well as identifying the most common problems at the stage of learning this technique and the most successful method to prepare the system for use. In the process of the task, the following results were obtained: student errors were identified and classified. Based on the signal-parametric approach to the diagnosis of faults in dynamic systems, mathematical diagnostic models were created, that allow the system to identify classes of errors by comparing the calculation results of the student and the calculation results of the system. The peculiarities of the application of the proposed diagnostic models are presented. The intelligent tutor system is developed and used in practical classes on "Theory of automatic control" by third-year students of the National Aerospace University “Kharkiv Aviation Institute”.
