The article is based on field research conducted between 2011 and 2013 amongst people living in villages surrounding the town of Dąbrowa Białostocka in Poland. The main research method was ...qualitative interviews with female and male farmers. Examined issues included: human-animal relationship and animal subjectivity, attitudes towards mass production of milk and meat, strategies of animals’ death avoidance. I assume that the perception of nature and human-animal relationships changes with time, is socially constructed and grounded in a specific cultural environment. I show that my interlocutors are against mass production as they believe it objectifies animals. The relationship they have with animals within their farm is personal and based on mutual trust. Animals of various species are treated differently, however each individual is treated uniquely, and the relationship is a result of both animal and human personality and effort.

Slaughter animal slaughterhouses have been counted among entities that increasingly demand solutions in the field of automation and robotics. Therefore, the production of automatic devices, robots ...and control system integrators adapted to work in slaughtering and slaughtering lines of animal carcasses is observed. Automation and robotization of technological processes performed on slaughtering lines contributes, among others to: improve hygiene, reduce unit costs, increase production, improve efficiency and repeatability of activities performed, shorten the time of individual unit operations, which significantly affects the quality of the raw material. This paper discusses fully automated slaughter lines and slaughterings of pigs and cattle carcasses, while describing unit operations. The types of robots used in pig slaughter lines produced by industry leaders are also given.
Ubojnie zwierząt rzeźnych od kilku lat zaliczane są do podmiotów, które coraz częściej zgłaszają zapotrzebowanie na rozwiązania z dziedziny automatyki i robotyki. W związku z tym obserwuje się wzrost produkcji urządzeń automatycznych, robotów i integratorów systemów sterujących dostosowanych do pracy w liniach uboju i obróbki poubojowej tusz zwierząt rzeźnych. Automatyzacja i robotyzacja procesów technologicznych wykonywanych na liniach uboju przyczynia się m.in. do: poprawy higieny, zmniejszenia kosztów jednostkowych, zwiększenia produkcji, poprawy efektywności i powtarzalności wykonywanych czynności, skrócenia czasu wykonywania poszczególnych operacji jednostkowych, co istotnie wpływa na jakość surowca. W niniejszej pracy omówiono w pełni zautomatyzowane linie uboju i obróbki poubojowej tusz trzody chlewnej i bydła z jednoczesnym opisem operacji jednostkowych. Podano również typy robotów stosowanych w liniach uboju trzody chlewnej produkowanych przez firmy będące liderami w branży.
