This paper provides an overview of Scalable High efficiency Video Coding (SHVC), the scalable extensions of the High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard, published in the second version of HEVC. ...In addition to the temporal scalability already provided by the first version of HEVC, SHVC further provides spatial, signal-to-noise ratio, bit depth, and color gamut scalability functionalities, as well as combinations of any of these. The SHVC architecture design enables SHVC implementations to be built using multiple repurposed single-layer HEVC codec cores, with the addition of interlayer reference picture processing modules. The general multilayer high-level syntax design common to all multilayer HEVC extensions, including SHVC, MV-HEVC, and 3D HEVC, is described. The interlayer reference picture processing modules, including texture and motion resampling and color mapping, are also described. Performance comparisons are provided for SHVC versus simulcast HEVC and versus the scalable video coding extension to H.264/advanced video coding.

This limited scope has skewed criminologists' understanding of video games and video game culture. Xbox Live has proven to be more than just a gaming platform for users. It has evolved into a multimedia entertainment outlet for more than 20 million users. This book examines the nature of social interactions within Xbox Live, which are often riddled with deviant behavior, including but not limited to racism and sexism. The text situates video games within a hegemonic framework deploying whiteness and masculinity as the norm. Diese Studie untersucht die fachsprachliche Qualität von Online‐Erklärvideos mit dem übergeordneten Ziel herauszufinden, inwiefern sich Unterschiede zwischen verschiedenen Erklärvideoproduzent:innen feststellen lassen. Allgemein lässt sich festhalten, dass die fachsprachliche Qualität aktueller Online‐Erklärvideos unzureichend ist. Verschiedene Kriterien, die unter Berücksichtigung fachdidaktischer Forschungsergebnisse als lernhinderlich beschrieben werden, kommen in den instruktionalen Erklärungen der Videos vor. Darüber hinaus gehen die Videos der Lehrer:innen und Organisationen als didaktische Expert:innen gleichermaßen mit fachlichen Fehlkonzepten und fachsprachlichen Unstimmigkeiten einher, wie auch die von Privatpersonen und Fachwissenschaftler:innen.

A 43-year-old woman with uterine adenomyosis and recurrent uterine prolapse underwent a robotic-assisted subtotal hysterectomy with cervicosacropexy, performed below the bikini line, using the Dexter robotic system™, at the Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Universitätsklinikum Schleswig-Holstein (UKHS) in Kiel, Germany.

The procedure was performed without intra-operative complications; estimated blood loss was 10 ml. Operative time was 150 minutes, console time 120 minutes, total docking time 6 minutes. Dexter performed as expected; no device-related issues or robotic arm collisions occurred. The patient did not require pain medication and was released on the second postoperative day.
RAH performed below the bikini line using the Dexter robotic system™ is a feasible, safe, and adequate procedure. These initial results should be confirmed and further extensively refurbished with larger patient cohorts, and functional and psychological outcomes need further investigation.

This is the first case of robotic en-bloc excision of posterior compartment deep endometriosis performed with the new HugoTM RAS system.
The purpose of this video article is to show for the first time the feasibility of bowel surgery for deep endometriosis with this new robotic device.
A 24-years-old woman affected by severe dysmenorrhea, chronic pelvic pain, dyschezia and dyspareunia underwent to deep endometriosis excision using the new robotic platform HugoTM RAS system at the Unit of Gynaecological Oncology, Fondazione Policlinico Universitario A. Gemelli IRCCS, Rome, Italy.
Intraoperative data, docking set up, post-operative outcomes up to three months follow up were evaluated.
The surgical procedure was carried out without intra-operative or post-operative complications, operative time (OT) was 200 minutes, while docking time was 8 minutes. No system errors or faults in the robotic arms were registered. Post-operative complete disease-related symptoms relief was reported.
According to our results, the introduction of this new robotic platform in the surgical management of deep endometriosis seems to be feasible, especially in advanced cases. However, further studies are needed to demonstrate the benefits of this surgical system and the advantages of robotic surgery compared to laparoscopy in this subset of patients.
The High Efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) standard has recently been extended to support efficient representation of multiview video and depth-based 3D video formats. The multiview extension, MV-HEVC, ...allows efficient coding of multiple camera views and associated auxiliary pictures, and can be implemented by reusing single-layer decoders without changing the block-level processing modules since block-level syntax and decoding processes remain unchanged. Bit rate savings compared with HEVC simulcast are achieved by enabling the use of inter-view references in motion-compensated prediction. The more advanced 3D video extension, 3D-HEVC, targets a coded representation consisting of multiple views and associated depth maps, as required for generating additional intermediate views in advanced 3D displays. Additional bit rate reduction compared with MV-HEVC is achieved by specifying new block-level video coding tools, which explicitly exploit statistical dependencies between video texture and depth and specifically adapt to the properties of depth maps. The technical concepts and features of both extensions are presented in this paper.
