The spreading of misleading information on social web platforms has fuelled massive panic and confusion among the public regarding the Corona disease, the detection of which is of paramount ...importance. Previous studies mainly relied on a specific web platform to collect crucial evidence to detect fake content. The analysis identifies that retrieving clues from two or more different sources/web platforms gives more reliable prediction and confidence concerning a specific claim. This study proposed a novel multi-web platform voting framework that incorporates 4 sets of novel features: content, linguistic, similarity, and sentiments. The features have been gathered from each web-platforms to validate the news. To validate the fact/claim, a unique source platform is designed to collect relevant clues/headlines from two web platforms (YouTube, Google) based on specific queries and extracted features concerning each clue/headline. The proposed idea is to incorporate a unique platform to assist researchers in gathering relevant and vital evidence from diverse web platforms. After evaluation and validation, it has been identified that the built model is quite intelligent, gives promising results, and effectively predicts misleading information. The model correctly detected about 98% of the COVID misinformation on the constraint Covid-19 fake news dataset. Furthermore, it is observed that it is efficient to gather clues from multiple web platforms for more reliable predictions to validate the news. The suggested work depicts numerous practical applications for health policy-makers and practitioners that could be useful in safeguarding and implicating awareness among society from misleading information dissemination during this pandemic.
Many barriers exist to K-12 classroom teachers' adoption and implementation of geospatial technologies with their students. To address this circumstance, we have developed and implemented a ...geospatial curriculum approach to promote teachers' professional growth with curriculum-linked professional development (PD) to support the adoption of socio-environmental science investigations (SESI) in an urban school environment that includes reluctant learners. SESI focus on social issues related to environmental science. The pedagogy is inquiry-driven, with students engaged in map-based mobile data collection and subsequent analysis with Web-based dynamic mapping software to answer open-ended questions. Working with four science and social studies teachers, we designed and implemented a sequence of three locally oriented, geospatial inquiry projects that were implemented with 140 9th grade students. We investigated how the geospatial curriculum approach impacted the teachers' geospatial pedagogical content knowledge (PCK), their cartographic practices, and promoted geospatial thinking and analysis skills with their students. Findings revealed strong growth in teachers' geospatial PCK, increased map use by teachers, use of maps as media for inquiry and not didactic instruction, and modeling to guide students' geospatial analysis using GIS. Implications for PD to promote teachers' geospatial PCK and in-class cartographic practices are discussed.
The contemporary development of education is marked by the rapid expansion of online educational applications and platforms. Consequently, it is becoming clear that teachers must consider them and in ...light of their changing role, know what they can offer in their field to be able to recommend them to students to get additional knowledge or even to integrate them into their teaching. As students in the field of computer science and informatics are particularly accustomed to considering online knowledge resources, we decided to investigate their perception of educational applications and platforms. Based on the analysis of the results of their testing of educational platforms and applications, we found that for them the most important is content, followed by personal preferences, reason, user experience, price, etc., and only in the last place is a certificate. The most frequent word in their research reports proved to be knowledge, which we included under the code reason, followed by research, content, time, free, variety, and quality. It also turned out that students’ experience of testing educational applications and platforms is predominantly positive and has even improved over the course of the last three years, which we attribute to the effects of the Covid-19 coronavirus epidemic. The comparison of pre-pandemic and post-pandemic data also revealed that positive sentiment came to the front, while students now prioritize user experience, reason, and quality over the content and personal preferences compared to the pre-pandemic period, while they are still aware of the need for exploration.

This article describes social media as a new era of interpersonal communication. The study’s main objective is to distinguish between the specific features through which social media is creating ...interesting channels of information transmission. The functioning of the newly defined information society is also analysed, citing the changes that social media underwent as a good starting point for this analysis. When the speed of information transfer and the general availability became insufficient for the needs, there were expectations of deeper connections between the users and the content than had existed prior to social media. A social media user is not only a recipient, but also an active creator who influences deeply the essence and functioning of social media.
Leishmaniasis and trypanosomiasis occur primarily in undeveloped countries and account for millions of deaths and disability-adjusted life years. Limited therapeutic options, high toxicity of ...chemotherapeutic drugs and the emergence of drug resistance associated with these diseases demand urgent development of novel therapeutic agents for the treatment of these dreadful diseases. In the last decades, different in silico methods have been successfully implemented for supporting the lengthy and expensive drug discovery process. In the current review, we discuss recent advances pertaining to in silico analyses towards lead identification, lead modification and target identification of antileishmaniasis and anti-trypanosomiasis agents. We describe recent applications of some important in silico approaches, such as 2D-QSAR, 3D-QSAR, pharmacophore mapping, molecular docking, and so forth, with the aim of understanding the utility of these techniques for the design of novel therapeutic anti-parasitic agents. This review focuses on: (a) advanced computational drug design options; (b) diverse methodologies - e.g.: use of machine learning tools, software solutions, and web-platforms; (c) recent applications and advances in the last five years; (d) experimental validations of in silico predictions; (e) virtual screening tools; and (f) rationale or justification for the selection of these in silico methods.

OBJECTIVES: Perform an automatic evaluation of two digital educational platforms for students to validate the conformance with WCAG in the three levels.METHODS: Techniques derived from automatic checker assessment were used to complete this research.RESULTS: Results showed that to fix the accessibility issues level A, the technical difficulty is low. Likewise, the investment of time and money is not as significant compared to the benefits that it represents. CONCLUSION: Adopting the use of these automatic evaluation tools, developers will incorporate good accessibility practices as part of their experience.

This demo covers both the technologies underneath the GeoContext tool and the CHContext visualization generator as well as the possible targets and applications. Makerspaces are creative and learning environments, home to activities such as fabrication processes and Do-It-Yourself (DIY) tasks. However, containing equipment that are not commonly seen or ...handled, these spaces can look rather challenging to novice users. This paper is based on the Smart Makerspace research from Autodesk, which uses a smart workbench for an immersive instructional space for DIY tasks. Having its functionalities in mind and trying to overcome some of its limitations, we approach the concept building an immersive instructional space as a web platform. The platform, introduced to users in a makerspace, had a feedback that reflects its potential between novice and intermediate users, for creating facilitators and encouraging these users.
Over the last years, geospatial web platforms, social media, and volunteered geographic information (VGI) have opened a window of opportunity for traditional Public Participatory GIS (PPGIS) to usher ...in a new era. Taking advantage of these technological achievements, this paper presents a new approach for a citizen-orientated framework of spatial planning that aims at integrating participatory community work into existing decision-making structures. One major cornerstone of the presented approach is the application of a social geoweb platform (the GeoCitizen platform) that combines geo-web technologies and social media in one single tool allowing citizens to collaboratively report observations, discuss ideas, solve, and monitor problems in their living environment at a local level. This paper gives an account of an ongoing participatory land-zoning process in the Capital District of Quito, Ecuador, where the GeoCitizen platform is applied in a long-term study.
