This article aims to analyze the historical milestones of coastal and sea resources management in Tomini Bay. It used a critical theory paradigm with two strategies, namely historical sociology and ...case studies. The collected data were primary and secondary ones, then were analyzed by using qualitative approach. The analysis results indicated that coastal and sea management in To-mini Bay could be divided into era before 1901, when Bajo Tribe was the sea adventurer in To-mini Bay as well as owning the resources. Since 1901 to independence era of Old Order, Bajo tribe began to settle to coastal area, built houses above the sea surfaces with economic resources coming from fishing and other sea pickings. During the New Order, precisely from 1977 to Reformation Order, the existence of Bajo Tribe was terribly disturbed by the wood company, fishpond, and conservation policy. In this era, Bajo Tribe faced the resettlement pressure that caused their community was divided, Sea Bajo and Land Bajo. This reality caused the access of the Land Bajo community to the coastal and sea resources was limited, while the Sea Bajo community was progressively under the pressure of of the expansion of the wood company, fishpond, and conservation policy.Key words: Bajo Tribe, wood company, fishpond, conservation, resettlement, cultural tourismTujuan penelitian ini adalah menganalisis tonggak-tonggak sejarah penguasaan sumber daya pesisir dan laut di Teluk Tomini. Penelitian ini menggunakan paradigma teori kritis, dengan strategi sosiologi sejarah dan studi kasus. Data yang terkumpul berupa data primer dan data sekunder, kemudian dianalisis dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan sumber daya pesisir dan laut di Teluk Tomini dapat dibagi atas masa sebelum tahun 1901, yang ditandai Suku Bajo sebagai pengembara laut di Teluk Tomini sekaligus me-nguasai sumber daya yang ada. Sejak tahun 1901 sampai masa kemerdekaan (Orde Lama), Suku Bajo mulai hidup menetap dengan membangun rumah di atas permukaan laut, ekonomi bersumber dari menangkap ikan di pesisir dan mengumpulkan hasil-hasil laut lainnya. Memasuki Orde Baru, tepatnya mulai tahun 1977 sampai Orde Reformasi, eksistensi Suku Bajo mulai terganggu dengan masuknya perusahaan kayu, tambak, dan kebijakan konservasi. Di era ini Suku Bajo mengalami tekanan resettlement, menyebabkan komunitas mereka terbelah. Odabir ekološke proizvodnje i ekološki prihvatljivih proizvoda, osim već postojećih ekonomskih kriterija, postaju nužnost i jedan od vrlo važnih ciljeva drvnoprerađivačkih tvrtki. Pojedini proizvodi ...i njihova
proizvodnja imaju različite utjecaje na onečišćenje okoliša. Stoga je potrebno utvrditi ekološku kvalitetu pojedinih proizvoda, što znači analizirati njihove ekološke pogodnosti tijekom njihova životnog ciklusa. U ovom je istraživanju utemeljena metodologija utvrđivanja ekološke kvalitete namještaja, koja se temelji na tri znanstvene metode: metodi životnog ciklusa proizvoda, ABC analizi koja je modificirana za tu metodologiju i na metodi multikriterijskog odlučivanja. Analizirana je ekološka kvaliteta triju kuhinja poznatog proizvođača. Rezultati istraživanja osnova su za izgradnju optimalne poslovne strategije sa stajališta određivanja proizvodnog asortimana. Metodologija kojom smo se koristili također je pogodna za proučavanje ostalih vrsta namještaja i za donošenje optimalnih ekološki prihvatljivih odluka u drvnim poduzećima.
Companies that cannot predict business forecasts for their sales always fi nd themselves in ambiguity. In this research we analyzed two quantitative methods that gave the best results for forecasting ...the sales: Holt-Winters method of exponent smoothing of higher orders and linear regression of the 1st order. The data for the implementation of these two methods were obtained in a wood company that deals with parquet sales. The data were gathered for parquet sales by month in the years 2000 to 2009. The calculations of sales forecasts enabled to compare both methods. On the basis of smaller deviations from data obtained, we determined the most appropriate method. We received the best result with the use of Holt-Winters multiplicative model of exponent smoothing of higher orders. Thus, according to this research, this method should be used for further forecasting of parquet sales in the analyzed wood company.
Decisions for environment-friendly production and environmentally acceptable products are becoming a necessity and one of very important objectives of timber companies next to already existing ...economic criteria. Individual products and their manufacture have different infl uences on the pollution of the environment. Therefore it is necessary to determine the ecological quality of individual products, which means analyzing their ecological suitability during their life cycle. In our research we developed the methodology for establishing the ecological quality of furniture, based on three scientific methods: the method of life cycle analysis, ABC analysis, modified for our case, and the multi-criteria decision-making method. We analyzed the ecological quality of three kitchens of a well-known manufacturer. The results of the research are the basis for developing an optimal business strategy from the viewpoint of determining a production assortment. The used methodology is also suitable for studying other furniture products and for accepting optimal environmentally acceptable decisions in wood companies.
Ne postoji mnogo proizvoda od drva koje bi kupci kupili impulzivno, bez dodatnog poticaja i razmišljanja. Odluka potencijalnog kupca s obzirom na vrstu proizvoda obično prolazi kroz proces ...razmatranja, i to na način da je za skuplji proizvod razmatranje detaljnije. Proces donošenja odluke o kupnji nekog proizvoda ima pet faza: prepoznavanje potrebe, potraga za informacijom, vrednovanje alternativa, odluka o kupnji i ponašanje nakon kupnje. Tvrtka mora utvrditi što je njezinim potencijalnim kupcima (potrošačima) u svakoj fazi procesa donošenja odluke o kupnji važno. Na temelju toga, tvrtka mora odrediti mjere kojima će utjecati na potrošača u pojedinim fazama procesa razmatranja. Cilj ovog rada bio je vrednovati činitelje u procesu donošenja odluke o kupnji namještaja primjenom metode analitičkoga hijerarhijskog procesa (AHP). Vrednovanje pokazatelja navika, zahtjeva i potreba kupaca namještaja proveli su suradnici iz Slovenije i Hrvatske koji se bave istraživanjima i aktivnostima u području marketinga. Rezultati istraživanja mogu pomoći proizvođačima i/ili prodavačima namještaja u procesima definiranja uspješnih marketinških strategija.
Poduzeća koja ne mogu predvidjeti prodaju svojih proizvoda posluju u neizvjesnosti. U ovom smo istraživanju analizirali dvije kvantitativne metode koje daju najbolje rezultate u predviđanju prodaje: ...Holt-Wintersovu metodu eksponencijalnog izglađivanja viših redova i jednostruku linearnu regresiju. U poduzeću koje se bavi prodajom parketa radi predviđanja buduće prodaje prikupljeni su podaci o mjesečnoj prodaji u razdoblju od 2000. do 2009. godine. Na temelju izračunatih predviđenih vrijednosti prodaje omogućena je usporedba primijenjenih metoda. Ovisno o manjim odstupanjima od realiziranih vrijednosti izabrana je prikladnija metoda. Primijenom Holt-Wintersova multiplikativnog modela eksponencijalnog izglađivanja viših redova dobiveni su bolji rezultati, te bi ta metoda trebala biti rabljena za predviđanje prodaje parketa u analiziranome drvnom poduzeću.
Dedicating oneself to a greater good is one of the secret ingredients to business success in an evolving and highly interconnected markets environment. For wood companies, this is even more needed to ...face the overwhelming ongoing environmental crisis affecting business practices and customers' behavior in general. To build solid reputation and increase one's presence on competing markets, wood companies should not only care about products competitiveness, but also customers' perception, environmental awareness and ethical marketing. In this article, we simulated the effect of ethical commerce on wood companies' reputation using a modified competitive and cooperative model based on differential equations considering wood type, products categories and companies brand score or reputation as function of their commitment to social and environmental causes. The qualitative analysis and results of numerical experiment show that, focusing on sharing values, and building strong relationship with customers are highly important for long-term development. Moreover, reducing environmental impact by shifting production strategy towards man-made materials could meet today customers' demands for ethically and environmentally aware manufactured wood products.
