    This article treats large beasts in Kočevski Rog extending over 200 km2 of woody area of the Slovenian high carst. The caracteristic of the treated area still all the large autochthonous beasts: the ... brown bear (Ursus arctos), the lynx (Lynx lynx) and the woolf (Canius lupus). There is treated the history of beasts protection, repeated colonization of the lynx in the year 1973, the problem of preserving beasts in a cultural area and the measures for their preservation.
