  • The topology of cell-like mappings

    This is a survey of some recent developments in the topology of cell-like mappings, a central branch of modern geometric topology. The main subject is the so-called cell-like mapping problem. We ... describe the work on it since the late 1970s by various people, notably J. J. Walsh and E. V. Ščepin, culminating in the solution of the problem by A. N. Dranišnikov in 1988. The survey includes a list of unsolved problems and an extensive bibliography.
