    A data warehouse is a huge collection of data, integrated from various sources, being primarily designed for business users to satisfy their need for analysis. One of the important issues to be ... solved in a data warehouse design is to determine an efficient and consistent extract transform-load (ETL) process. A high quality dimensional data model is another issue to be solved. In spite of technology improvement s, information quality remains a problem for a majority of data warehousing projects, minimizing the usefulness of the projects. The purpose of this paper is to give an overview of existing approaches to guarantee and improve the information quality from data warehouses. After a literature review of approaches to the problem of information quality, the results are discussed. A classification of information quality components is made. It should serve as a guideline for both, ETL and data model design processes.
