  • Rhizomucor miehei lipase catalyzed esterification at high pressure

    Supercritical carbon dioxide (SC CO2) was used as a solvent for enzymatic synthesis of oleyl oleate (from oleic acid and oleyl alcohol). Reaction was performed in the high pressure batch stirred tank ... reactor (BSTR) and in the continuosly operated high pressure reactor (HPCOR). Esterification was catalyzed by immobilized Rhizomucor miehei lipase. Influence of various reaction parameters on reaction rates as well as on final conversion was studied. The study of the presence of internal and external diffusion limitations was performed for the HPCOR and was compared with the non diluted system operating at the atmospheric pressure, while the geometry of the system remained the same
