  • The influence of non-linear viscous function on the non-Newtonian turbulent fluid flow dynamic

    A turbulent flow of non-Newtonian fluid is studied by means of numerical modelling. Non linear viscous behavior is accounted for in the damping functions of k-▫$\varepsilon$▫ turbulent model as well ... as in the momentum equation, transport equation for turbulent kinetic energy and dissipation of turbulent kinetic energy. Two users subroutines were used to model additional source terms in momentum equation and all source terms in convection-diffusion equations for k and ▫$\varepsilon$▫. Numerical results for a developing turbulent flow in a channel and turbulent flow over a backward facing step indicate a great influence of non-Newtonian viscous behavior on a flow field.
