  • Low-vacuum sem analyses of ceramic tiles with emphasis on glaze defects characterisation

    The behaviour of glazed building ceramics exposed to different environment (weathering, chemicals, etc.) is determined by microstructure features; in many cases structural and surface defects at the ... micro- or nanometres scale for the functional properties of products. This paper illustrates use of LV-SEM analyses as fast, almost non-destructive, as only small amount of sample is needed, testing equipment in characterisation of various surface and structural properties of building ceramics in case of identification of material deterioration process as a result of environmental impact.
