Advances in the Internet technologies, specifically Web 2.0, have brought about richer Internet contents and applications. Although recent reports have shown increase of the Internet use by Thai citizens, Web-2.0-based websites in Thailand still do not keep pace very well that would permit full benefits of the technologies to be reaped. This paper presents the design and implementation of a Web 2.0 platform, Do in Thai Sense, as a proof of concept and as another viable option for Thai users and developers to coordinate their efforts and interests that could possibly result in a better utilization of the richness of Web 2.0 contents and applications. The Sense platform consists of REST and SOAP web services, Do in Thai markup and query languages, and the API framework. For developers, the Sense platform could potentially ease the development of rich Internet applications in the Do in Thai environment. For users, an online social network has been developed and deployed on the Do in Thai web system, and currently supports a virtual society as well as rich Internet contents that have been streamlined to promote an online learning society. Do in Thai Sense is currently able to support such rich Internet applications as Do in Thai Live, Brainstorming Board, and Reading for the Blind.
