In der deutschsprachigen Forschungsliteratur herrscht die Auffassung vor, dass Aristoteles als der »Entdecker« der partikularen Gerechtigkeit anzusehen ist. Der Aufsatz zeigt, dass diese Ansicht vor allem deshalb unzutreffend ist, weil Platon in der Politeia und den Nomoi bereits die Lehre von der distributiven Gerechtigkeit und der für sie charakteristischen geometrischen oder proportionalen Gleichheit entwickelt. According to the prevailing opinion in German-speaking research Aristotle is to be understood as the »discoverer« of particular justice. The essay demonstrates that this view is incorrect, especially given that Plato had previously developed the doctrine of distributive justice and its principle of geometric proportion in the Republic and the Laws.
