BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, CMC - A top official of the Russia-owned company that is anxious to carry out oil exploration work off Grenada's shores has hailed the island's signing of a new maritime boundary delimitation treaty with Trinidad and Tobago. The Commercial and Operations Director of the Global Petroleum Group (GPG), Marco Angeli, told the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) on Thursday that the signing of the agreement in Port of Spain on Wednesday amounts to "an excellent" move and a definite solution to the limits that exist between the two countries. He also said from the standpoint of the company, the agreement ensures there is a greater measure of certainty in its dealings with Grenada. He is therefore encouraging the Tillman Thomas administration to pursue a similar treaty arrangement with Venezuela. "Grenada has now to define the details of the maritime boundaries between Grenada and Venezuela," Angeli said.
