The present text forms an account of the history of the musical artistic education of the violin and proposes, after observations and personal experience of the author, an integrative model in which the instruction together with innovative motivational strategies provides the young violin student with the necessary tools to encourage their permanence in the study of the violin. The text clarifies that while the instruction is focused on the technical part, motivation should point to musical sensitivity, self-confidence, communication with the instructor and the selection of the repertoire to be interpreted taking into account the identification and personal inspiration about the knowledge that the child gets about the violin in each session. El presente texto conforma un recuento de la historia de la educación artística musical del violín y pro- pone tras observaciones y experiencia personal del autor un modelo integrado en el cual la instrucción junto con novedosas estrategias de motivación provee al joven estudiante de violín con las herramientas necesarias para fomentar su permanencia en el estudio del violín. El texto aclara que mientras que la instrucción esta enfocada en la parte técnica, la motivación debe apuntar a la sensibilidad musical, la autoconfianza, la comunicación con el instructor y la selección del repertorio a interpretar tomando en cuenta de la identificación e inspiración personal sobre el conocimiento que el niño obtiene sobre el violín en cada sesión.
