La finalidad principal ha sido reunir la información existente sobre LIJ contemporánea en la región y analizar diferentes variables, con el fin de formular conclusiones sobre este contexto literario. Después de una primera revisión de la bibliografía, se ha podido confirmar que no existen estudios específicos que analicen y reúnan la producción de autores, ilustradores y editoriales en la región. Por tanto, se ha realizado una aproximación estadística a través de un análisis de los datos de carácter descriptivo. Los resultados obtenidos permiten concluir que existen diferencias tanto en la producción editorial entre las provincias, como en el número de publicaciones entre hombres y mujeres. Abstract: This research deals with children's and youth literature developed in Extremadura throughout the 21st century. The main purpose of this research has been to collect most of existing information about contemporary Children’s and Youth Literature created in the region and analyze different variables. All of that to formulate conclusions about this literary context. A first review of the bibliography was carried out and it was confirmed that there are not specific studies that they analyze and collect the production of authors, illustrators and publishers in the region. Therefore, a statistical approach has been carried out through a descriptive analysis of the data. The results obtained allow us to conclude that there are differences in publishing production between the provinces and there are differences in the number of publications between men and women.
