    --$750,000 for repair and upkeep of local streets, up from $278,000 in 2004. Aldermen for months had been discussing whether to increase funds for road repairs. --$25,000 for the Weyenberg Public Library to be used for the search for a new library director to replace Robert Hafeman, whose contract was not renewed in September. Library Board President Susan Nelson, who also is an alderman, requested the funding. The library serves Mequon and Thiensville. Last year, they approved a resolution to limit property tax growth for three years. Under the cap, levy growth is limited to the tax base increase generated by new construction in the community. The resolution approved meets the spirit of a property tax cap state Republican lawmakers approved last year; it was vetoed by Gov. Jim Doyle.
