The “Jüdischer Kulturbund” devoted itself to extensively spreading interest in Jewish art and culture in spite of the Nazi persecution and worked to secure continued cultural activity by providing funds from the resources of its members and through the communities themselves. The "Jüdischer Kulturbund" in Leipzig was founded in 1934 and held over 40 cultural events until it was disbanded in 1939. Its "Monatsblätter" (English: monthly newsletter) provided discussions on theater as well as information and synopses on upcoming performances. (Source: "Juedischer Kulturbund."
