Among the various pre-treatment or purification processes of cellulose textile fibres only scouring and merceisation employ a concventrated alkaline agent. To understand the changes which cotton ...undergoes during various chemical processes it is necessary to know the morphology of the fiber as it appears under the microscope. The results presented in our paper show a good correlation between the changes of fibre morphology and dye absorption of the fibres.
