Deux cas de résistance : la traduction slovène des noms propres et du vocabulaire argotique et libertin à partir d'un roman de Dany Laferrière

Dany Laferrière was voted into the Académie Française in 2013. He is part of the Haitian intellectual Diaspora, but also of migrant literature in Quebec. Laferrière defines his style as direct and ...North American, but his writing is not in the traditional line of Quebec literature. The cultural and identity fragmentation are therefore present in the only novel of this author translated into Slovene language. in this article we want to present some reflexion about the way the text of Laferrière is able to resist the translation when it comes to translating foreign culture and realities. Our research will then focus on two linguistic and cultural axes which present resistance to translation. Sicne the novel contains many proper names, we will pay particular attention to the problem of the (non)translatability of proper names on the one hand, and, on the other, of slang or vulgar expressions present in the text.
