  • Iskanje vzorcev vetra v onesnaženosti zraka
    Bizjak, Boris, 1957-
In recent decades, global increase in troposphere ozone concentrations has been attributed mainly to anthropogenic emissions . Photochemical interactions between emitted pollutants and favorable ... meteorological conditions can lead to high ozone concentrations. The residence time of ozone in the atmosphere is long, enabling long-range transport over hundreds to thousands of kilometers, thus allowing occurrence of high ozone levels at both, regional and urban scale. The development of mathematical tools to predict ozone concentrations is very useful because it can provide early warnings to the population. Accordingly, the European directive concerning ozone in ambient air enhances the necessity of developing predicting models. Ozone concentrations are very difficult to model because of the different interactions between pollutants and meteorological variables. One of the approaches to avoid this problem is the principal component analysis and cluster analysis, which has been receiving increased attention as an accepted method in environmental pattern recognition.
