The amount of wood waste is about 1.000.000 m3. One third is the wood waste that remains in forests, one third is a by-product of timber industry, and one third represents served-out wood packaging. ...It is very reasoable to recycle waste wood of all kinds to obtain material for wood splinter plates. For this purpose a device for mechanical smashing of waste wood was designed and incorporated into the wood splinter production process. Smashing of waste wood by rotating knockers is followed by magnetic and pneumatic separation of non-wood components. The product is thus fabricated by an environment-friendly procedure, first class quality of wood splinter mass is assured and excessive cutting down of trees is reduced. The integration of new components into the existing technology enables optimal use of both dryers, which represented the bottleneck of the production process.
