  • Changes in our preschool education

    The starting point of the article is the democratization of the Slovene society in general and of preschool education in particular. Here are of greatimportance "new" concepts of the sociology of ... education that were introduced into preschool education such as "official knowledge" and "hidden curriculum". Then four principal areas of the direction of the changes are presented in more detail. Those are: from the prevailing group-based routine to the right to privacy and individual freedom; from the rule of "equal for all" to the right to choose and a new understanding of the right to play; from"disciplining the body" to a different perception of the right to health and security; from formal equality to actual recognition of differences. As far as the latter is concerned, special attention is given to girls' rights and the reversal of gender-specific activities in kindergarten.
