    In children, the choice of regional anaesthesiologic techniques is advised on account of better blocking of the neurohumeral response to surgical injury, minimal physiologic changes and faster ... postoperative recovery. In conduction nerve block, local anaesthetics also cause adverse effects. Local anaestheticshave no antigen potental, however, hypersensitivity reactions to their application cannot be ruled out. Various acute reactions and complications following LA application are frequently defined as allergic reactions which follow the child through life, limiting its optimal choice of an anaesthesiology technique. The paper describes the side effects of the mostoften used LA in children as well as the possible causes of hypersensitvity reactions.
