    Actions of prevention directed towards HIV- AIDS sometimes require to face taboos and cultural resistance. Any professional entering this struggle must face difficulties that have to do with ... communication and information; make allowances for discrepancies in cultural background, dialogue with youngsters in order to prevent risky behaviours, participate in the better understanding of contamination routes - with special mention to blood and/or sexual contact - and, in short, overcome any kind of shyness when it comes to matters such asprostitution, homosexuality and addiction... The paper discusses the background of the forming of the Vancouver joint WHO-FIP declaration, its highlights and the implications of it s implementation in the daily pharmacy practice.
