Some charophytes records in Snežnik regional park = Parožnice v regijskem parku Snežnik

Charophytes were found on the Bloke Plateau (Bloska planota), on the Cerknica polje (Cerkniško polje), and in parts of Snežnik Regional Park during three summer camps of Dutch botanists in 1997 and ...1998 . There are 35 records of 7 taxa in 23 locations: Chara aspera Deth.ex Willd., Chara contraria A. Braun exKutzing, Chara globularis var. globularis. Thuill, Chara vulgaris var. vulgaris L., Chara vulgaris var. gymnophylla (A.Br.) Nyman, Chara vulgaris var. longibracteata (Kutz) J.Groves & Bullock-Webster, and Nitella opaca Agardh. Alcohol specimens were collected and are kept in Leyden, The Netherlands, and Belgrade, Yugoslavia. Many records were made in very shallow pools and streams, especially on the dolomite dominated Bloke plateau. Most species occurred in running as well as in standing waters. Charophytes were most often observed in mono- or bi-species stands. Characeae are present at a few sites with Potametea-like vegetation, usually in small numbers.
