Luxembourg Declaration, adopted and signed at the level of ministers on June 29, 2005, represents the culmination of different efforts for better public and political position of cardiovascular ...health in the EU member states. Signing this declaration, developed by the Directorate General for Health and Consumer Protection, Luxembourg Presidency and European Society of Cardiology,also Slovenia as a full member committed to respect and implement large pallete of various activities towards better health promotion and prevention of cardiovascular diseases. By supplementation by systematic secondary prevention and rehabilitation activities to our recent past and current work in the field of primary cardiovascular diseases prevention we canefficiently encircle our efforts towards quality improvement as well as life-span prolongation, with concomitant reduction of health differences between Slovene citizens in achieving these goals. Only by the programme, where we will achieve some general national consensus and readiness to collaborate, we should join many scientific, professional and providers' forces out of numerous different medical associations and healthcare institutions, governmental structures as well as non-governmental organizations.
