Aesthetic veneers are appliedover the labial surfaces and incisal edges of anterior teeth inorder to correct the shape, allignment and/or colour ofowns. The veneer is a thin shell made of C&B ...composite or various dental ceramics. It can luted to the etched enamel surface with resin cements, or to dentinewith the use of dentine bonding adhesives (Syntac) and composite lutingcements (Variolink II). The classicalaesthetic veneer may be applied only to enamel. However, newer techniques allow the veneer to extend into dentine,making it possible to use a thicker shell with a better aesthetic effect. Figures 2-6 show examples of laboratory made veneers, mostly prepared by IPS Empress staining and layering techniques.
