  • Tumorji osrednjega živčevja pri otrocih = Tumours of the central nervous system
    Župančič, Nežika
Tumours of the central nervous system are the second most frequently found tumours in child- hood. Histologically, a great variety of these tumours existand classification is often difficult. The ... grading of tumours is also controversial, especially since there has been such great progress in mole- cular biology and genetics. Usually, however, the diagnosis is not difficult if the history, clinical examination and all new laboratory findings are available and used appropriately. Some of the tumours have different characteristics and prognosis in children. It is important to know that after the actual treatment of the tumour is completed, the patient will require further help regarding neuro- logical and possibly other problems. The qualityof life of a child with a brain tumour can be influenced greatly hy thelater follow-ups in treatment.
