Glasoslovni razvoj v slovenskogoriškem narečjuKoletnik, MihaelaThe Slovenske Gorice dialect belongs to the Pannonian dialectal group due to the parallel development of the permanently long jat, long etymological o, permanently long u, and the syllabic, as well ... as to the parallel reflex of the permanently long nasal e, long e, and long .This dialect is not uniform, but, rather, it is split between two subdialects. The western subdialect is characterized by the lengthening of the old- and neoacute vowels in non-final and final syllables, which affected even the vowels under retracted accents, therefore, the reflexes for these vowels differ from the reflexes for permanently long or circumflexed vowels. The eastern dubdialect preserved the quantitative oppositions. The Slovenske Gorice dialect does not have tonemic oppositions. Stress is not limited to a particular word syllable, i. e., any syllable may carry the stress. Both common Slovene accent advacements and the retraction from the final short syllable to the pretonic short vowel were carried out, e. g., žená - žéna, kosá - kósa, meglá -mégla; in the western subdialect the newly stressed vowel was lengthened and diphthongized, while in the eastern subdialect the remained short. The newest accent retractions are the following: (1) in individual words from circumflex long final particularly open, syllables, e. g., 'lexko vüxa: (2) from short circumflex syllables, e. g. 'a:dvent, 'bu:ogat, 'poznan, p'rinas, 'zåčnen. Vowels in forms leveled by the basic form are also short, e. g., 'nu:oso, 'nu:osla, 'nu:osli; 'zemi, 'zemta, 'zemte (vel.). The following vowels from the original Slovene phonological system had the same development in the eastern and western Slovenske Gorice subdialects: e -e:i, o - o:u, e, e, e - e:, ǎ - a:, q - o:u. Permanently long i and u developed into diphthongs i:i, and ü:i in the western subdialect, but remained long monophthongs in the eastern subdialect. Vocalic r in eastern subdialect preserved its syllabic character. Here, like in Prekmurje, old- and neoacute vowels in non-final and final syllables remained short, while in western subdialect they later lengthened and some also diphthongized, e. g., ě - i:e, ó, q - u:o, ě, é, e - ie:. Non-stressed u developed into i and o, e, g., ki'pü:vlen, 'pa:zdixe, Lob'la:na, 'xa:ntox, non-stressed ě into i, e. g., si'deti, editi, or a: 'go:usanca, 'vi:edat (W). In the Slovenske Gorice dialect CSI velar l, CSI middle l and CSI. l' merged into middle l. R is like in Standard Slovene. R' - r; črě-and žrě-; -m-n; n'-n/j; v is [v], is front of voicless obstruent and in word-final position it is [f]; rinezem. Original clusters tl, dl are not preserved.
