Lateral-type polysilicon field emission triode, consisting of two symmetric gate tips aligned by an angle of 70/spl deg/ with respect to the sharp cathode tips was fabricated by using local oxidation ...of polysilicon (LOCOS) process. The fabricated device has the electrical characteristics of a low turn-on voltage of 13 V and the emission anode current of 150 /spl mu/A/50tips at V/sub AC/ = 50 V and V/sub GC/ = open. After high field activation treatment, the turn-on voltage was down to 2 V and the emission current increased up to 525 /spl mu/A/50tips at V/sub AC/ = 50 V and V/sub GC/ = open. Furthermore, the emission current versus gate biases indicated a dramatic change of emission currents from gate tip-end resulting in an interesting operational behavior.
CMOS IC technology has become an affordable means for implementing capable systems operating at 300 GHz and above. CMOS circuits have been used to generate a signal up to 1.3 THz to detect both ...amplitude and phase of signals up to 1.2 THz, and to detect a signal amplitude up to ~10 THz. Additionally, a transmitter and a receiver operating up to ~300 GHz for electronic smelling using rotational spectroscopy, a 30-Gb/s 300-GHz QPSK transmitter for data communication with -6-dBm output power, and an 820 GHz imaging array fabricated in CMOS have been reported. These results, along with the CMOS circuit performance in the literature, and link analyses suggest that the electronics necessary for everyday life applications in the terahertz band can be affordably realized.
전남의 여수지역의 해양에서 carotenoid를 생산하는 세균을 분리하여 사용하였으며, 이 세균은 Curtobacterium sp.으로 동정되었다. 해양세균 Curtobacterium sp.의 carotenoid 생산 최적조건은 pH 7.0, 최적온도 25℃, 탄소원으로서는 4 mM의 fructose, 질소원으로서는 0.07%의 tryptone, 미량원소 ...및
growth로서는 각각 0.5 mM의 Mg+2 이온, 1 ㎛의 cynocobalamine이었으며, 이 최적조건에서의 carotenoid의 생산량은 13.0 mg/ℓ였다. 해양세균 Curtobacterium sp.로부터 생산된 carotenoid는
tunaxanthin (86.6%), diatoxanthin (7.1%), β-carotene (2.1%), canthaxanthin (1.9%), cynthiaxanthin (1.9%) 5가지의 다른 성분으로 구성되어 있었으며, 주로 tunaxanthin을 생산하는 균
주로 사료된다. 그리고 분리 정제하지 않은 crude corotenoid을 이용한 생리활성 시험에서 E. coli 및 L. bulgaricus 등에 대해서는 항균활성은 나타내제 않았으나, HepG2 (Hepatocellular carcinoma, human, ATCC HB-8065) 및 HeLa (cervical carcinoma, human, ATCC CCL-2) 등의 암세포에 대하여 각각 86.4% 및 39.2%의 강한 저해 활성을 나타내었다. CCL-13 (diploid, monotypic hepatocyte, human, ATCC CCL-13) 세포를 사용한 항산화 활성은 50 ㎍/㎖의 carotenoid의 농도에서 83%의 강
한 항산화 활성을 보였고, DPPH법에 의한 Free radical의 소거 기능도 43.4%의 높은 활성을 나타내었다. 따라서 해양세균 Curtobacterium sp.로부터 생산된 이 carotenoid는 정제하지 않은 상태로도 어류 및 축산사료, 첨가물, 항산화제, 의약품 등의 다양한 분야에 사용이 가능할 것으로 판단된다.
