Dans la publicité audiovisuelle, la polyphonie est illustrée par l'ironie et, dans la publicité a image fixe, la polyphonie est contenue dans l'intertexte. En ce qui concerne l'impact des slogans, l'article se concentre sur la polyphonie réceptive illustrée par les commentaires des internautes, deux pages Internet et les résonances actuelles au niveau discursif. Le concept linguistique de polyphonie peut etre utilisé pour mieux comprendre la structure profonde du discours publicitaire en ligne.
The activity of Romanian users in digital spaces oftentimes exhibits a dynamic code containing Romglish (the combination of Romanian and English features), which also reverberates in offline ...discourses and has an ongoing boomerang effect between offline and online interactions. By means of a survey, this paper investigates the Romanian collective imaginary which is set in the linguistic data. As the Romanian language constitutes a matrix in which English and Globish (a simplified pragmatic form of English) are embedded and they become part of a new dynamic code, destined to be changed at all levels (lexical, morphological, and syntactical), Romanian native speakers' perception of Romglish is an important dimension. As such, this paper will analyse how individuals perceive their personal use of Romglish online and in face-to-face interactions: the use of the code created, the preferences and mechanisms of linguistic choices and linguistic creativity, the frequency of code-switching and code-mixing both in formal and informal contexts, and the degree of universality of the code used. The findings will provide insight not only specific to the aspects of the Romglish, but also related to the cognitive processes involved and the reasons which trigger such processes.
Social media platforms provide the digital playground for users to manifest a strong form of clicktivism and, at the same time, a deep sense of belonging. In this digital space, users produce ...discourses with in-built ideologies which have a strong impact on society. Through digitized practices (following, sharing, commenting, posting), users become social actors who design and redesign their behaviour and life choices in relation to the individuals and groups which they follow online on a regular basis. In the context of the Covid-19 pandemic, through the use of social media, various users have become movers and shakers in Romania. This study aims to analyse the new media discourse showing the Romanian people's attitude towards the Covid-19 pandemic in the time span of September-October 2021. As such, the linguistic manifestation of users (including micro-celebrities and public figures) was reflected in the polarization of Romanian society, resulting in people mistrusting authorities, and medical experts and giving voice to users who would not normally have a voice in the matter of a global pandemic.
In the remote learning setting of the second semester of the academic year 2019-2020, students suddenly had access to the academic context only in a digital format. As such, content, academic ...instruction, peers and instructors were all part of an impromptu teaching-learning process. This study explores the relation between students and technology before/during and after the second semester. We also look at the students' perception of a particular form of academic instruction, namely a seminar, and a particular topic, English Morphology. In order to obtain a valid analysis, we also present our students' academic profile, their perception and attitude towards their fields of study (Philology) and towards the ideal (online) language instructor.
The digital tools and practices are a fundamental aspect in our students' activities and preoccupations and integrating them in the teaching-learning process triggers and keeps our students' ...engagement and motivation. Our study focuses on the educational context provided by the academic environment and it illustrates the use of three digital tools and activities during courses and seminars on the Grammatical Structure of the English Language taught to first year students at Babeș-Bolyai University, the Faculty of Letters, specialisation English Language and Literature.
Sustained silent reading is a weekly routine activity meant to enhance students ' interest in extended reading of authentic texts, meant to improve their critical thinking abilities, socio-cultural ...knowledge, attention, reading skills and vocabulary. Hence, in our ESP course, SSR is used as a weekly activity both in class and at home, introducing our students to the topic under focus, but also keeping them engaged with the topic for the entire week. Our SSR project represents a continuation of a pilot project initiated in the academic year 2017-2018 and involves the students at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences. The SSR project 2018-2019 involves nine steps: 1. students familiarisation with the SSR concepts and requirements ' announcement; 2. texts sharing using google drive; 3. Weekly Facebook posts; 4. SSR performance during class time; 5. SSR homework; 6. analogue entry; 7. Optional delivery ofpresentations; 8. Online entry; 9. end of semester vocabulary test. As such, for ten minutes, at the beginning of each course, students have to read a text which focuses on the topic discussed in that course and selected by the teacher. The texts chosen are longer texts that the students have to finish at home. Students also receive the assignment to select three concepts from all the texts chosen for the SSR activity and three other concepts that they encountered in other courses and which are linked to their fields in general. They have to introduce them in a survey at the end of the semester, mentioning for each of them a definition, a context/a situation that reflects the usage of the concept and a translation. In order to prepare the students for this survey, during several courses, after SSR, the language instructor collects specialised concepts from the students, by involving them in various collaborative and interactive classroom activities. At the end of semester, students have the option to deliver presentations based on the SSR texts and the end of semester exam also contains concepts from the SSR. The SSR is an activity that helps our students improve their ESP skills, but at the same time, it has as an end result a collection of specialised texts and terminology, using a crowdsourcing technique which involves our students and gives them the role of experts in their fields.
The paper takes a Critical Discourse Analysis angle and joins Social Media Studies and Religious Studies perspectives of Computer Mediated Communication material to examine such strategies of online ...interpersonal communication as may foster civic solidarity on social networks sites over local incidents with national and international media coverage. Computer mediated discourse is often underpinned by ideological antagonism especially when tackling social, political, cultural and even religious issues. Our topic choice was occasioned by an infelicitous episode--a fire in a local venue hosting a rock concert that resulted in a high number of casualties and fatalities. The tragic episode triggered some polarized and highly opinionated positioning in the social media, both independent of and/or in retaliation to media sourced accounts and personal posts. We analyzed qualitatively authentic CMC material as well as edited media inputs in order to establish if and how the networked, yet generationally diverse, public achieve symbolic solidarity through reactive and correlated digi-participation where sociocultural identities become tangent to such ecclesiastic issues as became salient and were up-cycled (by some) in the local political conjecture. Dieser Beitrag soll einen Einblick in das Online-/Hybrid-Lehr- und Lernsystem für Fremdsprachen in Rumänien geben. Aufbauend auf der theoretischen Forschung zu metakognitiven und ...Höflichkeitsdarstellungen innerhalb des Fachgebiets bietet die Studie ferner eine Analyse, wie Metakognitions- und Höflichkeitsstrategien von den Hauptakteuren der akademischen Bildung (Sprachlernende und -lehrende) wahrgenommen werden. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Beschreibung spezifischer Aspekte, bei denen die unterstützenden metakognitiven und Höflichkeitsstrategien einen verantwortungsvolleren und ansprechenderen digitalen pädagogischen Rahmen ermöglichen, der die Autonomie und das Engagement der Lernenden stärkt. Der Schwerpunkt liegt auf der Hervorhebung kontextabhängiger Herausforderungen, die beim Online-/Hybrid-Lernen/-Lehren beobachtet werden, verbunden mit verschiedenen Graden der Bereitschaft, mit der dynamischen Verschiebung des Frontal-/Online-Unterrichtens umzugehen, und auch auf dem Vorschlag von schülerzentrierten Lösungen. The obtained results of the study may inform subsequent developments of language mediation through the activation of digital cognition and social and emotional learning practices. Die erhaltenen Ergebnisse der Studie können spätere Entwicklungen der Sprachvermittlung durch die Aktivierung digitaler Kognition und sozialer und emotionaler Lernpraktiken beeinflussen.
