In recent years, the use of public procurement as a tool for promoting innovation has captured the interest of many researchers. However, their research mostly focuses on the impact of public ...procurement on companies’ innovativeness. This article discusses the findings of available literature on this topic and proposes a model of transferring the concept from a company level to the level of the whole country. One of the major problems is the unavailability of appropriate measures for this phenomenon, so the authors of this paper suggest that the concept of public procurement for innovation can be approximated by applying the most economically advantageous tender (MEAT) criterion. The implementation of this criterion in choosing the best offer can be supported and facilitated by the use of ICT, which can improve the efficiency of procurement process and enable more innovations.
The paper aims to examine how social entrepreneurship education (SEE) is implemented at Croatian universities. The research was conducted through in-depth interviews with five professors who teach ...the Social Entrepreneurship course or a related one that covers this topic. The undertaken research identified the dominant themes within the content of the analysed courses, the teaching techniques used, and the target competencies of SEE. The comparison of the results with SEE in other countries resulted in three opportunities for the development of the analysed courses: (1) emphasizing the importance of social enterprise scaling and local adaptation of existing social innovations; (2) greater use of service learning; (3) more significant focus on sales skills and financial management with an emphasis on new sources of financing aimed at social enterprises. The results will help policy creators support the recommended improvements of the SEE at Croatian universities. Key words: social entrepreneurship education; syllabus; teaching methods; competencies.

kulturni, socijalni i simbolički kapital.
socijalnog kapitala.
The aim of this paper is to identify the forms of capital used by entrepreneurs in creative and cultural industries in Croatia and to explore how they convert their capital from one form into the others. The theoretical framework of the research is Bourdieu’s capital theory in which capital appears in four forms: economic, cultural, social and symbolic capital. In order to examine the research question, interpretative paradigm has been used with phenomenological interviews as the primary research tool. In-depth interviews with 10 entrepreneurs have been conducted. The results indicate various practices of utilizing
entrepreneurial capital and considerable possibilities of capital conversions. Particularly high conversion rates of cultural and social capital have been found.
The objective of the paper is to investigate the awareness of the Northern Croatia population on the possibilities to reuse certain items (furniture, cars, clothing, everyday items etc.) before ...disposing them, and which of these possibilities they are using in their everyday practices. The questionnaire was constructed based on literature review with practical examples from different countries. The primary data from 102 respondents were collected online during two-week-period in September 2021 and analysed by descriptive statistics methods. The results indicate high awareness of the people and widespread everyday reusing practices in the sample. The majority of the respondents are aware of the possibilities and motivated by ecology and their inner altruism motivation, but the behaviour is also lead by cost effectiveness. The previous studies have been conducted in other, more developed economies, whereas research in Croatia was mostly focused on recycling, whilst reuse was only tackled by national level agencies by describing a few examples of good practices. The consumers' role in general reusing behaviour still hasn't been researched
The paper deals with fiscalization which caught the attention of the entire Croatian economy last year. Fiscalization implies stricter oversight of taxpayers' income with the intention of collecting ...higher tax revenues. Part of that money would not come to government without fiscalization. The authors studied whether the implementation of fiscalization influenced Croatian businesses and in what ways they were affected based on the qualitative answers of participating businesses. They briefly analyze the advantages and disadvantages of the fiscalization process and the overall attitude towards fiscalization based on the stage of entering fiscalization, on average age or the average gender of employees.
Most authors agree that innovations increase country's competitive advantage. One of the aims of investing in research and development (R&D) is stimulation of increased innovative efficiency of the ...economy. European Union is encouraging its member states to invest 3% of their GDP into R&D. In this paper cluster analysis has been conducted and the results indicate that, when analysing expenditure for R&D and national competitiveness measures, Croatia is in the same cluster as Bulgaria, Greece, Hungary, Poland and Romania. Further analysis indicates that these countries are investing in research and development less than the European Union average.
In this paper the authors explore why Croatian emigration occurs in such numbers and why is it preferred over starting your own business and making a desired life in Croatia. At the beginning the ...authors presented the entrepreneurship demographics and trends, as well as the Croatian emigration trends in last two decades. This was a foundation to construct survey in two parts for two different types of respondents: the first part included a survey of people who emigrated from the Republic of Croatia to get a closer insight into why people prefer to move out than to start their own business; the second part included a current students survey to see their plans for emigration and potential entry into entrepreneurship when they finish their studies. The results show that Croatian emigrants and students look for a better job, more organized state and that they do not want to start their own business in Croatia mostly because of lack of knowledge and financial resources.
